Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Tia is an adorable chihuahua mix who has a sweet disposition and gets along great with dogs of any size. She is extremely timid, so it takes her time to trust people. She does not like to be picked up nor held. However, she enjoys snuggling on the couch or in bed with her humans (especially under a cozy blanket). She also loves bathing in the sunshine. Tia is house-trained, kennel-trained, and adapts quickly to routines. Due to her size and timid nature, Tia would be best suited with an experienced and patient dog owner with no small children. She requires a fence and leash walks only. Tia may be shy, but she has the heart of a loving, frisky pup who deserves a wonderful forever home!     Medical Notes: Spayed Microchipped Vaccinated Heartworm negative Proheart 12 injection Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 17, 2024, 8:09 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bo and Pickles are an adorable, bonded duo overflowing with love, snuggles, and sweet kisses!   Pickles, the younger and smaller of the two, might be a little shy when meeting new friends, but it doesn’t take long for her to become your devoted shadow. She prefers the company of gentle dogs and isn’t too fond of larger ones, but with time and patience, she’s happy to coexist.   Bo, on the other hand, is a social butterfly! Whether it’s a human or a new furry face, Bo is all about making friends—especially if head scratches are part of the deal. He’s a pro at turning on the charm and loves to share his lap time and endless kisses.   This pair comes fully vetted, housebroken, and ready to fill your home with warmth and affection. If you’re looking for double the love and double the cuddles, Bo and Pickles are the perfect pair for you! Medical Notes: Spayed Microchipped Vaccinated Heartworm Negative ProHeart 12 Injection (injectable heartworm prevention that lasts for 1 year in the body) Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 17, 2024, 3:35 pm

Story
Anna is a 9 year old, 10lb adorable Chug (chihuahua/pug mix) who has endured some big human turmoil recently and ended up in a Middle Tennessee shelter. Not much is known of her history, but her underweight condition indicates at least some neglect took place. A really devoted foster mom for Critter.Cavalry Rescue noticed her profile in the shelter and realize that being a senior she might not be chosen very easily by the general public.  This young foster woman is making sure that Anna is gaining much needed weight slowly.  She’s starting to put on weight and enjoys her meal times-with the occasional treat of whipped cream. While she is timid at first and a little wary of quick movements, it doesn’t take long for her to warm up and become your best snuggle buddy. Anna has some spunk and can run up stairs as fast as any puppy. She seems to be good with other dogs and initiates playing, though she doesn’t know what to do with toys. She does well on a leash and going outside. She is catching on to potty training (another example of her neglected past) and we are wanting someone who works from home or is retired as she does exhibit some separation anxiety in her first week with us.  She has found the cozy comforts of warm blankets and fluffy pillows and burrows underneath.  Anna has lots of love to give and deserves  a family to spoil her.   Please email ccrtennessee@gmail.com if you are interested.  ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
Roxie is 6 years old, non spayed female chihuahua. Shots 2 months expired. Best in a home without other dogs. I love Roxie and she has been my best friend since I got her. The bond I have with her is what makes this so hard but I know there’s someone who could do better for her. She was a gift to me when I was 17. As the time comes for me to move out I cannot bring her with me. She is a barker and I can’t risk bringing her into a place she is not allowed. She is picky with her friends but does have them! She definitely prefers smaller dogs. Roxie does have jealousy issues with your personal attention on other dogs. Doggy door access is best for her and she is crate trained. She loves soft toys and little tennis balls. She doesn’t like hard rubbery ones. Roxie is great on walks and cannot get enough of the sun when bathing in it. Her favorite thing is cuddles and lying under blankets.

Story
Tidbit is a teeny 10lb senior little who in incredibly sweet but does have a laundry list of medical issues including dental disease, luxating patellas, Heartworm, and has a 4/6 heart murmur. He is a very sweet little guy who LOVES to play with other dogs so would do great in a home with another one. He doesn't seem to mind the size of the dog, and seems to want to play with whatever size is in front of him, but another dog seems to really help Tidbit acclimate to his surroundings for sure! We have learned that Tidbit does have storm anxiety but we have some good meds to help him with that! He also visited the vet June 24th and we know that we will be able to neuter him and give him a good dental after he goes through Heartworm treatment, which he completed end of August, and we also learned that his heart is not yet enlarged so yay for that! He will need to have x-rays every 6 months to check on that progress.  Bonaparte's Retreat will be more than happy to take on the costs for his care.November 4, 2024, 1:26 pm
