Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Animal ID 251302Date into Rescue: 06/29/2024 Reason for being in rescue: Rocky was surrendered by his owners to a NC shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled him from the shelter  Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Rocky is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.  Weight: 15.5 lbs Height: 14 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? No, but he would enjoy one What kind of home would be best for me? Mickey is ready to learn and grow. He's never known life without the companionship of other dogs, but would be okay as your best and only buddy if you have a solid plan for play and socialization. Rocky knows very little about basic training, but is eager to learn. We're looking for a home that will be committed to positive reinforcement training with this sweet prince. Rocky will be happy in an apartment or single family home, just don't leave him home alone all day with no company. He really wants to be where you are. What is my personality like? Rocky and his 3 children were surrendered by their owners to a NC animal shelter. No reason was given. Maybe they were puppies that didn't sell. There was no mama dog with the family. Regardless, we are thankful they are with us. Handsome Rocky has the deepest chocolate coloring and most soulful eyes. He's clearly a man that has seen a lot, full of wisdom beyond his years. Rocky is a gentleman among peers - confident, quiet and eager to please. He has a gentle demeanor that asks for someone to make him their prince.  How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: Rocky is estimated at 6 years old. We celebrate his birthday 06/29/2018. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. November 5, 2024, 5:31 pm

Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled him from the shelter.  Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Gambit is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Gambit arrived in rescue with a few broken toes. He was found as a stray so we don't have any backstory. The veterinarian's orders were 6 weeks of splint, no surgery. He may walk a little different for the rest of this life, but at his size, we figure he'd rather be carried for any distance anyway! Weight: 5.5 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: No Adoption Fee: $349 Fence needed? No, but a physical fence is a great safety feature for any dog. What kind of home would be best for me? Puppies are active, agile little babies, they need homes that are ready to tire them out both mentally and physically. What matters most to a puppy is a happy and excited owner ready to take on loving and training their new puppy! Gambit is looking for a home with another small, active dog for play. He loves play time with his foster brother and simply happier with a companion. His ideal home is with someone home more than they are away (e.g. work from home, home school, active retiree). Gambit would love kids - just 8 or older please as he's a small boy. Gambit is not hypoallergenic and will shed. What is my personality like? You won't meet a happier dog than Mr. Gambit. He's young, enthusiastic, and simply radiates personality. Gambit LOVES toys! He loves to play with other small dogs. He loves to be held. He rides great in a car (though he prefers sitting in your lap), walks decently on a leash (though no long walking until his toes have healed), and sleeps comfortably in a dog bed at night (we're certain he wouldn't mind snuggling up in bed beside you). This happy-go-lucky guy is always up for adventure and eager to be someone's best friend! How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: Gambit was found as a stray so we have absolutely no history on him. Based on his overall condition, we believe he's under a year old. We celebrate Gambit's birthday 1/25/24. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. Story
Sheldon was rescued 10 years ago. He is a sweet and loving dog who needs a at home companion. He can no longer hear or see well. He is housetrained but has been having difficulty holding his bladder. We think he is 13 or 14. All the teeth on the right side of his mouth have been pulled. He weighs no more than 8 pounds. Loves to sleep and get treats. I’m having to move and can no longer have an animal in my new rental. I also work 12 hour shifts and it is simply too long to leave him home alone. I’m looking for a great home wife him with no kids and someone home most of the time. He does love car rides. I will get his should updated before rehoming to the right home. I’m not asking a rehoming fee because I want him at a perfect home where he can have peace and companionship.
