Story
Penny Found at the feet of her owner who passed away in her home, sweet penny has been through it! Penny and her brother ended up in a rural shelter after her only owner and home she ever had, was gone. We ran to their rescue and both are thriving in foster homes!! They weren't a bonded pair and since Penny is our senior gal, we wanted to get her medical conditions under control. Penny is up for adoption. We are guessing she is between the ages of 8-10 years old. She will need a dental once adopted. We have been focused on getting her healing and her skin better. And LOOK a at her now From her foster: She's mirrors the other dogs in welcoming me home by greeting me at the door with excitement. She spends most of her time relaxing in the sun by the window. She is very chill. Penny is food motivated. Using small treats she has been trained to use a doggie door. She is our shadow and doing incredible. She has thrived so much since the scared first day when we got her. Apply at rosierescue.org Licked Pet Photography

Story
Meet Jill!! A fabulous 8-year-old who was living with 16 other pups before landing in a rural shelter for a month. When the storm was brewing, we opted to get her to safety immediately. Jill has been in foster for a week. She's coming out of her shell beautifully and really showing her foster how amazing she can be! She will be fully vetted this week but can be adopted now! We are all ears about her. Hope you are too. Apply at rosierescue.org

Story
He is one of the 12 chihuahuas pulled from a hoarding case up in Anderson SC. One of our "little" volunteers had a wonderful idea to name them after gem stones. Little did we know at that time, there just happens to be 12 precious stones. So naming them after gemstones was just meant to be. He is 5 years old and weighs 7.4 lbs. He needs a loving home that can be patient and tolerant of a scared little guy learing to be a loved pet. Although they know humans, they were never taught affection and love. His foster parents are working to gain his trust and showing him what a loving home should be. Foster update: Because Marcus came from a hoarding case, he finds comfort in the company of other dogs. He will sleep in bed with you either on a pillow next to you or under the covers. When he wakes up he is full of snuggles and kisses! He is not crazy about being picked up or held but does tolerate both. WE ONLY ADOPT LOCALLY WITHIN A 2 HOUR RADIUS OF THE TRICOUNTY AREA. ***Exceptions may be made for seniors or hard to place dogs. If the animal is under the age of 3 years old or has health issues, a vet reference is required which means you must own a pet or have owned a pet in your name. Adoption fee of $265 covers all vetting including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip heartworm test and treatment if needed and any other medical that may be required while in rescue. We only do adoptions on Saturday and not all animals are able to attend so if you would like to see a specific animal please let us know so that we can make arrangements for it to be present at the event. Event locations do vary so please check the homepage to find out where we will be this week. Please do not ask us to reduce adoption fees since all fees help us to cover medical expenses for all of our animals, some of which can be very expensive. Saving lives is not cheap so thank you for your understanding and helping us save as many as possible. Please email lowcountryanimalrescue@ymail.com for an application.
