Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Sadie Ann is a 5 year old, 13 pound adorable mixed breed that we are told is a Chorkie. She has the sweetest personality ever, the coat of a wire haired Terrier, and a little tuft on her head that can be spiked to a mohawk. She is healthy, playful, loves attention, but is also independent. Sadie is housetrained, crate trained, and great in a car. She just doesn't know how to walk on a leash yet, but with a little more work she can get there so a fenced yard is a must. Sadie loves other dogs to run and wrestle around with. She is healthy and fully recovered from her spay and dental so the next step is finding this unique looking girl her happily ever after! To adopt Sadie Ann, please complete an adoption application at peacelovepoms.rescuegroups.org. The $350 adoption donation ($250 for senior citizens 65+) includes core vaccines (Rabies, Parvo/Distemper, and Bordatella), Accuplex (Heart worm and Lyme test), fecal, microchip, bloodwork, spay, dental, and all the love you can handle! Story
Emmett is a small, senior dog with a big personality and a strong sense of independence. He’s looking for a calm, adult-only home where he can feel safe and respected. Emmett does not like to be handled or picked up, so his ideal adopter will be someone who understands his boundaries and can give him the space he needs to thrive. While Emmett lives with other dogs, he isn’t interested in close canine relationships and prefers to keep his distance. He would do best as an only pet. A securely fenced yard is essential for this independent pup, giving him a safe place to explore and decompress. Emmett is potty trained but may mark in the house if another dog isn’t fully housebroken. He’s great on a leash and enjoys slow, steady walks, making him a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a relaxed pace. Emmett’s favorite activities include burrowing under blankets, playing with anything that squeaks, relaxing in his crate, and occasionally curling up nearby when he feels ready for affection. Emmett does have advanced dental disease, which cannot be treated surgically due to his grade 4 heart murmur. He is on lifetime medication to manage his condition, and his adopter will need to be committed to ongoing care. Despite these challenges, Emmett is full of spunk and ready to enjoy his golden years in a loving home. If you’re an experienced dog owner with a calm, patient home, no other pets, and a securely fenced yard, Emmett could be the perfect match. He’s neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, and ready to find his forever family. Apply today to give this special senior the understanding and comfort he deserves!

Story
PLEASE NOTE! Unless stated otherwise, our dogs and puppies are located in Arkansas, and transported to the north/northeast once adopted. We do occasionally have dogs/puppies placed in foster homes in the north/northeast. In the cases where the pet is somewhere other than Arkansas, it will be noted beside the name of the pet.12/14/24 STILL AVAILABLE 10/21 Luna Moonpie Looking for a local (Arkansas or nearby) adopter! Luna is a tiny chihuahua/pug mix who has had a bit of a traumatic few months. She came into rescue a few months ago when her owner had to go to assisted living. Luna had lived in an apartment with her mom most of her life, rarely seeing other people. She has been in a foster home, where she loves the woman but only tolerates the man and the other dogs. She was adopted briefly by the perfect adopter- an older lady who lived alone with no other pets- but had to be returned after she tried to bite a delivery driver. Luna has the typical Chihuahua personality. She is nervous and will bite out of fear. Imagine how scary this world would be if you were only 8 lbs? She is a one person kind of dog, and she will defend and protect that person at all cost! She doesn't care for other dogs, but may be able to coexist with another dog who won't try to force interactions with her. She really just wants a lap to sit in and a human to cuddle. She loves sleeping in bed with her person. She is not super vocal so apartment life would be fine for her. She is not fully house trained but will use potty pads most of the time. Because of the high likelihood of failed adoption, and the stress of transport, we feel strongly that Luna needs a local home, in case she needs to come back into rescue, we can be her safety net. She would be the perfect companion for a single retired person. Please share Luna's post. It is so hard to find a home for a dog like this. But she didn't ask to lose her mama, she didn't ask to be undersocialized, and she didn't ask for chihuahua genes. It's just who she is, and she still deserves a good home and to be loved. Luna is 4 years old.For questions or more info, email apps.aasr@gmail.com. To apply to adopt: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 To see more of our available dogs, Www.adoptastrayrescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Our typical adoption fee for puppies younger than 6 months old is $400, and for older puppies and adults, the usual fee is $350. This includes microchip, spay/neuter,  up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, dewormings, flea/tick treatment, and heartworm test (if over 6 months old) as well as heartworm treatment if they test positive. There is a transport fee of $150 per dog, depending on the transporter. We use Pack Leaders Rescue Dog Transport most often, but also use Hearts Transport as well on occasion.
