Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement—Kennel License #2617Behavior Profile Color(s): Yellow/OrangeYellow—May be more shy or skittish/does better in calmer environments.Orange—Has behavior traits that require breed and/or specialized experience with dogs.Could she do well with kids? No, children are not recommended for Abby.Could she do well with other dogs? No, other dogs are not recommended for Abby.Has this dog lived with cats? Yes. [The Lycoming County SPCA does not “cat test” dogs per the Association of Shelter Veterinarian’s Guidelines for Standards of Care in Animal Shelters.]---Condensed Staff Assessment Notes: Abby is an extremely fearful dog. She dislikes being leashed and taken out of her kennel for walks. When approached, she barks defensively and stomps her front paws. Once leashed, she bolts away and does not allow me to touch her at all. She keeps spinning her body to keep her head facing me. Abby showed no interest in playing with toys; instead, she barked at me, growled, and hid under a table. She also showed no interest in food. I believe she is too stressed by the presence of strangers to assess her for resource guarding. We were unable to handle her or determine a safe place for her.---For more resources to help with any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDT

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Piper T, a sweet Chihuahua Mix with a heart as big as her cuddles! This little squirrel watcher loves to curl up with her human on the Lazy Boy or snuggle in bed for cozy nights. Housetrained, spayed, and up to date on all her vaccines, she’s ready to find her forever home. When meeting new people, Piper is cautious and a bit protective of her human, but is slowly learning to trust.  This is likely due to insecurities. Though she’s had lots of love from a family since she was a small puppy, Piper is looking for a new home due to a child's severe allergies.  Piper T is has been a loyal companion, always there for cuddle time and watching the world go by. She’s spayed, up to date with vaccines and on flea/tick/heartworm prevention, so she’s all set for her next adventure. Could you be the perfect match for this little lovebug? Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ Click here for the ADOPTION APPLICATION if you are interested in adopting this pet. Applications are the first step in the adoption process. Please do not call or email simply to express interest. We are all volunteers and receiving your application saves us time and helps to determine the best match for both people and dogs.  We provide as much information as we currently have on each dog in their description. For questions on the adoption process, including fees, please review the Adoption page. If you have additional questions or are interested in adopting, please fill out an adoption application. Once we receive your application someone will be in touch to answer your questions. We do not arrange visits to meet dogs without an application. If you'd like to meet a variety of dogs without filling out an application please attend one of our events, listed under the events link.  Thank you!March 6, 2025, 8:23 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Mr. Poppy This adorable little fella is a spitfire to say the least. He came from a hoarding situation with a lot of other dogs. When he came in he was petrified. We took in several dogs from this home and with each drop-off... they told us these were the last dogs in the home. The dogs were not handled much and he will still run from you if he feels threatened or knows you want to put him in his crate. He can be crated and should be when you are not home, but he really doesn't care for it. Mr. Poppy will require a home with at least one other smaller to medium sized pup or a home where his people are home more often than not. He prefers adults and is what we call our "Parrot dog". He is happy to be laying with you, in your lap, or lounging on your shoulder watching tv. He does currently sleep in bed with his foster mom and dad, so he will need a home where this is ok and furniture is not off-limits. We would suggest a home that is not extremely active as he is reactive to strangers when they first come into the home. He does not do well on car rides, so he will be happy to just hang out at the house with you, rather than going on trips to the store, etc. We are recommending no children under 15 for this little guy. He wants to be the only "kid" in the house. If having a companion who thinks you are his world is what you are looking for and are willing to deal with his limitations, then Mr. Poppy is your boy! When applying to adopt through ODAAT, please know that we take pride in placing our animals appropriately based on their needs and personality. We want the best family for them and the perfect fit for your family. All applications are ran prior to choosing an adopter... This process takes time and we do not adopt out on a "first come first served" basis. Applications are found on our website www.onedogatatime.us .   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2024, 9:50 pm

Meet Nancy!Nancy and her brother Puppers were surrendered to us when their owner fell ill and could no longer care for them. Nancy and Puppers have been together all their lives and are bonded, so they are hoping to be adopted together! They are open to meeting other dogs and cats, and their ideal home would be a low key household with respectful, older children. If you`re interested in meeting Nancy and Puppers, they are located at the PSPCA -- Danville Center on Bloom Rd. -- open daily from 12:00 - 6:00 (no appointment needed - all people in the home are required to meet the dog before going forward with adoption, along with any dogs in the home with proof of Rabies Vaccine & DHPP Vaccine). If you have any questions about them, feel free to call the shelter at 570-275-0340 or email us at danville@PSPCA.org.Pennsylvania SPCA Danville Center1467 Bloom Road Danville PA 17821Kennel# 2909
