Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Mr. Poppy This adorable little fella is a spitfire to say the least. He came from a hoarding situation with a lot of other dogs. When he came in he was petrified. We took in several dogs from this home and with each drop-off... they told us these were the last dogs in the home. The dogs were not handled much and he will still run from you if he feels threatened or knows you want to put him in his crate. He can be crated and should be when you are not home, but he really doesn't care for it. Mr. Poppy will require a home with at least one other smaller to medium sized pup or a home where his people are home more often than not. He prefers adults and is what we call our "Parrot dog". He is happy to be laying with you, in your lap, or lounging on your shoulder watching tv. He does currently sleep in bed with his foster mom and dad, so he will need a home where this is ok and furniture is not off-limits. We would suggest a home that is not extremely active as he is reactive to strangers when they first come into the home. He does not do well on car rides, so he will be happy to just hang out at the house with you, rather than going on trips to the store, etc. We are recommending no children under 15 for this little guy. He wants to be the only "kid" in the house. If having a companion who thinks you are his world is what you are looking for and are willing to deal with his limitations, then Mr. Poppy is your boy! When applying to adopt through ODAAT, please know that we take pride in placing our animals appropriately based on their needs and personality. We want the best family for them and the perfect fit for your family. All applications are ran prior to choosing an adopter... This process takes time and we do not adopt out on a "first come first served" basis. Applications are found on our website www.onedogatatime.us .   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 17, 2024, 6:50 pm

Story
Green/Yellow-6+ Kid by Kid, Dog Selective (Calm Dog, Multiple Meets)**Due to Chata needing spayed, her adoption will not be finalized until on or after: TBDChata's mouth looks terrible and smells badly, she is probably in a good bit of pain. Her nails were very long, they were trimmed and hopefully won't be painful any longer. She showed no interest in toys. While Chata wanted human attention more than playing with toys, she only tolerated her handling. She isn't sure about the leash either. She seems to be very sweet; she needs some positive conditioning to people and things once she has had a dental and her mouth is feeling better. Chata was very stressed with no interest in food, play, toys, or handling. She had soft body language and was submissive when we picked her up. Once she is being held she was more tolerant of people approaching her.For more resources to help with at any step of your adoption journey go to: https://go.petadoptiongateway.com/LycomingDTBureau of Dog Law Enforcement-Kennel License #2617

Story
Griselda is a 2 year old female. She can be shy initially meeting new people. It will take longer for an adult male to befriend her. For whatever reason, they aren't her favorite people at first. She is fine meeting children as long as they respect her space. She tested well with other dogs and cats. PA Kennel License #1333.

Story
Age: 6 years Size: 16 lbs Estimated breed: Chihuahua/terrier mix   Gizmo came to us from a home with good intentions, who quickly became overwhelmed by the number of dogs in the home due to a few unexpected litters. This is why we will ALWAYS preach spay/neuter! Fortunately, the family reached out for help, and we were able to split the family with another local rescue. They are all in foster care and looking for forever homes!    Gizmo is around 6 years old and weighs 16 lbs. His former owner described him as the sweetest of them all, and we have to agree! He's a sweet, mature guy who does well with dogs, cats, and people. We have not seen him with kids yet. He loves being with people and has quickly become foster mom's shadow. He's not used to the crate or leash but is picking up on both quickly and responds well to verbal praise and treats! He'll fit into most homes and families as long as they have plenty of love to give him.    To adopt Gizmo, please apply on our website! https://www.nirvanaanimalrescue.org/adoption-application   Please note we cannot guarantee the age or breed of any of our dogs. All of our dogs are working on their crate and house training.    PA Kennel License #18366July 30, 2024, 10:27 am
