Zoy is 14 1/2 yrs old. This girl came to us from an elderly couple that could no longer care for her. She is housetrained with a dog door. She takes two heart meds twice a dsy. She is slow to warm up to new people but is very fun and loving of you give her time. she does ok with dogs and cats but grumpy with them and prefers her own space. All available dogs are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and given a broad spectrum dewormer . I want you to meet Risa. This cutie is 7 years old and 12 lbs. She is smaller than she looks, and 100 times cuter in person than she is in photos. Risa is housebroken, and will use the pee pad if needed. She is great with the other small dogs in her foster home and would prefer a playmate in her forever home. She is a mama dog, and can come on a little bossy at first meeting, but she will be a great companion for your little furbaby. She is also good with respectful children over 10 years old. She would prefer a home without cats, large dogs or small children. She must be fed separetly from other dogs, and does not know how to share bones with other dogs, so its important to give those separetly too. Risa came to us extremely pregnant, then gave birth to 5 puppies. After raising her puppies, she had to also undergo heartworm treatment , so she has been through a lot, but she in now happy, healthy, any ready to find her forever home!! Please no out of state applications or apartments. Risa requires a home with securely fenced yard (I can not stress this enough). All available dogs are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and given a broad spectrum dewormer . Risa's adoption fee is $200. This little girl should have been in the cast of TheGolden Girls! She's sweet and has lots of spunk! Teeth? Nope, none of those, but she is still beautiful and loves to eat! She is pretty quiet, and not really a barker. She's good with other dogs, and loves to sun herself outside or in a sunny warm spot inside. Dixie is a cute, scruffy-faced, snaggle-toothed 8.5 lbs puppers. She is a little shy, but once she warms up to you, she is your best friend and will flourish in a patient, understanding home. As you might know, little dogs can be possessive and guard their human. Dixie is no exception. No young children, please, but she loves male humans! She follows the guys around the house, wanting to be picked up! With slow introductions, Dixie gets along with small dogs her size but wouldn’t mind being an only dog. (Has not been cat tested.) Dixie is a couch potato. She loves her pillow! Dixie likes to sit on the back of the couch and watch out the window for anyone driving up – she lets you know if there is a visitor! Dixie would do best in a quiet home where she can feel safe and loved, with an experienced terrier owner who can spend time with her, showing her how to play with toys! Dixie is crate-trained but needs more help with potty training and socialization. She is up to date on her shots, is heartworm negative, and is spayed.

Bear's Story: His elderly owner was terminally ill and did not want Bear to watch him die. The gentleman dropped Bear off in a nice neighborhood hoping someone would take Bear in and give him and good home. Animal control picked Bear up but didn't return him since the caregiver was fearful the owner would again abandon Bear in a misguided attempt to find him a new home. Our rescue pulled Bear and had him neutered, vaccinated, HW tested (negative) and started on preventative. Bear is both sweet and a little "snarky". What Chihuahua isn't?? Bear is appx. 10 years old but has a lot of life in him. He likes to cuddle on the sofa with his human and sleep under the covers in bed. He happily wears a belly band in the house but doesn't soil it and really doesn't need it most of the time. He is crate trained and goes in easily for a treat. Bear does get snappy when he is scared.
