I rescued Toby a few months ago but I have a busy schedule and can no longer keep him. Toby is very shy at first but once he gets used to you he is nothing but a cuddle bug. Hey there! I’m Poncho! I’m an 11-week-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix, weighing in at 12 lbs of pure love and joy! I’m all about running, playing, and having a blast, but when it comes down to it, cuddling is my favorite thing to do. I’m a big fan of snuggling up and giving all the puppy kisses! I get along great with cats—there’s one in my foster home, and I totally ignore her. I’m focused on playing and spending time with my humans. I’m also working on my potty training and getting better every day! Fewer accidents, more progress! Did I mention I’m one of the sweetest pups you’ll ever meet? If you’re looking for a playful, cuddly little lovebug, I’m your guy! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter. Playful Teddy loves the ladies-and his favorite toys Chickie and Fuzzy. He plays fetch and even plays joyfully by himself. He obeys lots of commands : come/or clap your hands, sit, lie down, stay, leave it, wait (at the door or food bowl), then “OK” to avoid rushing out. He is a 4 year old beagle/chihuahua, so he loves hunting in the yard, is a great mouser, and has an adorable little high-pitched howl that always makes me laugh. He does zoomies. He lets you know that there is someone near your house, but can stop barking when you go to check them out and tell him it’s OK. He is afraid of men and it takes a long time to accept a man, which can be done by walking along with his lady owner. I got him a year ago, before I met a special man in my life. He does not warm up fully to my partner, and “protects me” from him, thus the reason to move him to an all female household. He will bite an unfamiliar man, and must be introduced with a muzzle on at first (repair man, for example).

Hi, I am Rosie and I am super shy. I am about 6 years old, have been with HART since June 2021 and am looking for a home to call my own. I came from a hoarding situation where over 150 doggies just like me were living together in a small house. My ideal space will either be with one of my friends (King is extra snuggly) or in a home with a dog about my size to hang around. I am a pretty easy going gal and am not territorial about my food, toys or treats. I don't mind cats but a doggie friend is a must for me. I am happiest if I get to roam around a yard with a fence as I have rarely been on a leash and just don't like it. I think I could learn to love humans and their attention but I will need time and patience as I am just learning what it is like to be loved. Think you might be the family for me? Do you want a small dog companion but NOT a lap dog? Do you want a dog who will run from you rather than towards you? Do you want a dog who prefers the company of other dogs over you? Well then I have got the perfect dog for you!! Please give a warm welcome to Clementine! In all seriousness, she is an adorable little girl. Clementine came to Hart in June 2021 and has been in the same foster home ever since. She with so many others was rescued from a hoarding situation in Tennessee. To this day, she still exhibits nervousness around people. For this reason, she is looking for a very special adopter. The adopter will need to be very patient with her and give her ample time to show her brand of affection. While she still runs from me if I try to approach her to pet her, she does make her way over to me at bedtime for lovings. She will even sleep in bed with me and give me some sweet kisses. But when it’s time to get up, she darts away again. I truly can’t explain it but I have learned to accept it. Clementine does great with her doggy friends. She is most comfortable with other dogs. The ideal adopter will have another dog in the home that will groom and “mother” her. She loves having a dog around that she can curl up with!! Also, since she is hard to catch, a fenced in yard would be best for her. Due to the fact that Clementine can be a challenge to catch and she does not come when called, any meet/greets will have to be done at the adopter’s home and only within 25 miles of the Northern Kentucky area. PS Guard your socks. She loves socks (haha)
