Dakota is a 2-year-5-month old Chihuahua mix weighing 15 pounds. He came to the shelter as an owner surrender. Unfortunately Dakota spent the majority of his life in a small apartment and was never housebroken. We've been working on building his confidence and introducing him to new things and adventures along with training. Dakota needs a slow and quiet approach, after a sniff and a treat you'll be quick friends. He's very playful and enjoys tug and stuffed toys. He's very affectionate and likes to cuddle. Needs housetraining and leash manners. Does well with baths. Good with dogs his own size (Dakota would benefit from another dog in the home to learn from). Treat motivated. Fearful of cats.His adoption fee is $150, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Please visit the shelter to meet him, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today! Story

Tank is 10 years old with no health concerns. He has been the only pet since I got him as a puppy so I am unsure if he would be ok around other pets. He does not do well with children which is the reason for needing to find him a new good home. He is an anxious dog and is used to a quiet home to relax in. He enjoys a good walk when weather is nice, plays tug of war with his favorite toy, will let you know when he hears someone near his house, and will nap the day away if you are away.

NOTE: We will only be accepting applications for her from those who live in Ohio....because she isn't fixed and doesn't have a date yet so will likely go foster to adopt and that must be in Ohio. Peanut is a 4lb, 2-year-old Chihuahua mix looking for her forever home. She is great with kids, very friendly with other dogs, but has not been around cats. When she isn’t playing, Peanut loves to snuggle up next to her foster siblings and will lay on her foster brother when she sleeps. Peanut is working on learning how to walk on a leash and only potty outside. One thing she does NOT like is the cold. Peanut is also working on becoming more comfortable in her crate, but right now she is not a big fan. She tends to cry when put into her crate because she would much rather be with her humans. Peanut would love to follow you around the house and cuddle up with you for hours. If you are looking for a perfect little lap dog, Peanut might be the girl for you! Fill out an application to meet Peanut ASAP! All dogs available for adoption are in foster homes. Please do not visit the location as it is a privately run boarding, training, and grooming facility.
