Story
Are you the type of person that likes to give sweet older pups a chance they might otherwise not get? Sweetie loves attention and will happily help you out by guarding the door of the bathroom from the inside. However, she can also be quite the independent little lady and doesn’t need to be a velcro dog… unless you want her to be! Sweetie can be a little bossy with her dog friends (part of why we think she’s mixed with chihuahua!) but generally gets along well with everyone. Sweetie is a beauty but would benefit from a little tough love when it comes to feeding and giving out treats and a little more activity in her day. A physically fenced yard is required. Sweetie is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. Story
ABOUT ME… Hello, my name is Lavender Belle. My daddy passed away recently, and my mommy could no longer care for me or the other dog in the home. A wonderful lady took me in and called CO•PAW to see if they could find a foster home for me and my sister. My foster mom took both of us to her house so we could find wonderful homes. Since I have been in my foster home, I have played with a bunch of toys, and I love the backyard. I also love cuddling with my humans. I have not been around kids or cats since being in my foster home. I may do fine if I am not overwhelmed. I have only been on the leash once and I did a wonderful job. My foster mom says I am stunning, and anyone would be incredibly lucky to have me. I AM GREAT WITH… I am a perfect dog. I am crate trained and I sleep through the night like a pro. I love playing with all the toys in the foster house and running in the backyard, it is like my own personal playground. My favorite game is hide and seek with my foster mom where I get snuggled under a cozy blanket and listen to her call my name. It is hilarious because when she finds me, I get smothered and kisses and cuddles. Ohh and did I mention I am a total foodie? I love all grub, and I am always trying to sneak a snack from the humans in the house. No. I AM STILL WORKING ON… At times I have to be reminded to stop being a couch potato and go outside for potty breaks, I would rather stay in the house where it is warm and cozy. Foster mommy always goes with me, and I like to have her nearby. My foster mom said I am doing a wonderful job, and she knows in a brief period of time I will be a potty pro. I AM NOT GOOD WITH… I love other dogs, but I like to keep them to a minimum. I can become overwhelmed if there are too many around at once. I do not know if I like cats or not because I have never been around them that I can remember. Once I find my perfect human I transform into a fierce little sidekick, and I am learning to relax and share the love. My foster mom says I am making some serious progress, and I should be very proud of myself because she is. **All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM. Booster shots are included in the adoption fee and will be performed at our clinic, or the adopter can use their own vet at their expense. Adopters must reside within 2 hours of Columbus, OH. No transportation assistance is available. **

Story
Meet Petey! He is a 2 year-old Chihuahua mix who weighs 15 lbs. Petey was rescued from a situation where he did not have much exposure to new people and new things. Due to his fearfulness, he would do best in a home with mature children only. He may be more prone to escaping if he gets scared, and walking on a leash is new to him. Petey is looking for a patient adopter who will help him build confidence and learn about the world.

Story
Pip Pip has been with us since Thanksgiving day. He's adjusted really well. He coexists with all the family animals, cats included and couldn't care less about them but will let them know with a growl they've entered his personal space. His focus is collecting all the squeaky toys and being with/on his foster mom's lap. He goes outside very confidently, does his business, claims his territory and comes back in to find his lap again usually holding a toy. His communication could be determined as mean but that is not the case. It's his way of showing that he likes petting, and scratching and just ALL the attention. He'll lean in hard to your neck for lovin's. A fashionable belly band would help in the beginning because he wants to claim the inside as his territory too but he is housetrained. Trazadone helps to calm this boys excess energy for now, Pip Pip would make a great lap dog for anyone who is looking.
