Meet Cleo! Cleo is a 10-year-old Chihuahua–Miniature Pinscher mix weighing about 12 pounds — the perfect little companion for your lap and your heart. This sweet girl was surrendered to our local shelter and is now safe in foster care, waiting patiently for her forever home. Cleo is a total lovebug who just wants to be cuddled and adored. She listens well, loves to snuggle in your lap, and has a calm, gentle nature that makes her a joy to have around. She currently lives with other dogs and does very well with them. She hasn’t lived with cats or children, so we’re not sure how she would do, but her sweet temperament suggests she might adjust well with proper introductions. Cleo is a smart little lady who already knows a few commands such as “come,” “no,” and “leave it.” She hasn’t used a crate in her foster home and has had very few potty accidents — she’s doing great with her house manners! Cleo would fit beautifully in almost any home — whether you’re a single person looking for a loyal companion or a family wanting a gentle, affectionate addition. She can be a little vocal when meeting new people (she likes to say hello in her own way!) but quickly warms up once she knows she’s among friends. Although a fenced yard is preferred, it’s not a dealbreaker for this little lady — what she really needs is someone who will love her, keep her safe, and make her feel like part of the family. Otto is a 14 wk old male Chihuahua mixed puppy. He currently weighs 4 lbs. We know the mom was a chihuahua but have no idea who the dad was. Otto and his brothers were surrendered to us as an unwanted litter. They are happy, healthy and friendly puppies. They have wonderful temperaments and a medium energy level. They love to snuggle in the blankets with you especially on these cold winter nights. They have plenty of love to share with the whole family. He will need help with house training. He is currently working on pee pad training. He has been fine with children, cats and other dogs. He is up to date on shots and wormed. He will be adopted on a neuter contract. Fiona is a 2 year 10 month old Chihuahua/Jack Russell mix weighing 10 pounds. She came to the shelter as an owner surrender. Even as an owner surrender we don't know much about her past. What we do know is that Fiona is a love bug with a gentle soul. She's a cuddle bug and loves to give kisses and overall is a happy little girl. She'll be your shadow (separation anxiety). She definitely has experienced past trauma and can be fearful in different scenarios. She can also be a drama queen (at the veterinarian or taking medication). She's vocal in many ways, crying, barking, howling. Working on potty pad training and housebreaking. Loves to go on walks. Crate trained. She is terrified of cats!Her adoption fee is $200, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today! Meet Avalon, a gentle soul Looking for her forever home Avalon is a beautiful 5-year-old, 12-pound Pomeranian with a heart as soft as her fluffy coat. Her life began in a puppy mill, where she was sadly discarded once it was discovered she had luxating patellas and could no longer be used for breeding. Despite her rough start, Avalon is slowly discovering what it means to be loved and cherished. She is still timid when meeting new people and will need a gentle, patient owner who can give her time to trust. Once she feels safe, her sweet personality shines through—full of affection, curiosity, and a growing love for play. She’s just learning the joy of toys and chew bones, and it’s a delight to see her tail wag as she explores this new world. Avalon would do best in a home with another small dog to keep her company and help build her confidence. Her ideal adopter would be home often and committed to protecting her from re-injuring her leg. She did have surgery on her leg so it has been repaired! A secure fence is required for her safety.
