I was surrendered to the rescue by my family, because I was nipping at the younger children. There were far too many children(6) to pick on me. I've been with my foster mom for a year now and I think we have a few things straightened out, regarding what kind of a home I need. I'm currently living in a quiet country home with a fenced yard where I can expend some energy chasing the squirrels.. We have a routine and infrequent visitors. There are other little dogs here and we get along fine, but I do not like strange dogs and would be best as an only pet. I like to play with squeaky toys, rope toys and nyla bones, am reliably house and crate trained and love to ride in the car and snuggle with foster mom when our day is done. I will be 3 years old soon, weigh 23 lbs. and have the cutest underbite. I am healthy, low maintenance, caught up on all my vaccinations and heart worm negative. I am VERY REACTIVE to new people and situations(stranger danger) and will bark and show fear aggression. I can be worked through this, if you have experience at socializing reactive dogs. Meet Penelope! She is a Chihuahua Beagle mix. She is about 16 lbs and approx 3 yrs old. She is the mom of the Looney Tune Litter. She is a shy gal at first but does open up pretty quick. She is still working on house breaking, she is good in a crate. She does great with other dogs and cats. She has been around old kids and does good. She is alittle nervous around men. If there is a man in the home she will need him to be patient with her. She would enjoy a quiet home, so we are suggesting a home with less traffic and kids over 10 years old. She does enjoy going on small walks and loves to follow you around the yard. A fenced in yard is highly recommended. This animal is current on all age appropriate vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, and spayed/neutered or will go home with an already scheduled appointment. They have also been given flea prevention.
