Story
Are you the type of person that likes to give sweet older pups a chance they might otherwise not get? Sweetie loves attention and will happily help you out by guarding the door of the bathroom from the inside. However, she can also be quite the independent little lady and doesn’t need to be a velcro dog… unless you want her to be! Sweetie can be a little bossy with her dog friends (part of why we think she’s mixed with chihuahua!) but generally gets along well with everyone. Sweetie is a beauty but would benefit from a little tough love when it comes to feeding and giving out treats and a little more activity in her day. A physically fenced yard is required. Sweetie is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. If you are interested in adopting Sweetie, please complete the online application here (copy and paste into your browser): https://hhdane.formstack.com/forms/lostpetrecoveryadoptionform

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mlo’s adoption donation is $475 and he is being fostered in Gahanna, Ohio. He has been neutered, microchipped, received his rabies, distemper/parvo, bivalent canine influenza, and Bordetella vaccines, tested negative for heartworms and on prevention, as well as flea prevention. He has also had a dental cleaning. Mylo came into rescue through no fault of his own when his owner was no longer able to care for him. He’s a mature boy that loves, riding in the car, taking walks and being close his person. Mylo does fairly well on housetraining in his foster home and should continue to do so if kept on a schedule. He prefers to sleep in your bed, but will sleep elsewhere. Mylo isn’t real vocal he is a quit little guy. Mylo isn’t supper active so he would do well in apartment. He loves attention from people and he would do well with older children. He currently lives with another low energy dog but has very little interaction. Mylo would do well as an only dog. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.PLEASE NOTE:   If you are viewing this biography on a website other than the Ohio Fuzzy Pawz website like Petfinder, Adopt-a-Pet, or another search engine (the OFP website is www.ohiofuzzypawz.com), not all information transfers to partner websites in some instances.  If you go to the  individual webpage of our dogs , you will be able to get more information each dog. Visual breed identification in dogs can be unreliable so, in many cases, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix.  We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Our Adoption Process The adoption process has several steps involved. Please review prior to submitting an application. Our adoption process is detailed here:  http://www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/info/adoption Our volunteers work very diligently to process each application and we try to ensure that we are making the best match possible for each dog.  We do not schedule meetings with dogs until an application has been approved.  It can take up to a few weeks to process an application or as little time as a few days, from the time you submit an application, please be prepared to adopt as we cannot hold dogs. Special Requirements Some dogs may have special requirements (for example, medications, a fence) -- if you apply for a dog, please be sure to read over the biography completely to see if there are any special needs and if you're home would be suitable.  If we indicate on the dog's biography that a fence is required, this means your home must have a physical fence.  Other dogs may require a "strong vet reference" which indicates that we are looking for a home that has a documented history of veterinary care with previous pets.  The first step in our process is to submit an online adoption application at www.ohiofuzzypawz.com/forms.  The application MUST include the personal references and veterinary, grooming, and landlord references (if applicable) and their respective contact information.  If you do not include the references and the contact information, your application will be delayed as it CANNOT be processed.  Once the references have been successfully completed, a home visit is then scheduled when a rescue representative can meet all members of the family or residents of the home.  No application is approved prior to the home visit being done.   At that point, the Directors will discuss any and all applications on a foster dog and make a selection--in many cases, there are multiple applications for each dog, so please be understanding that our only priority is the successful placement of each of our foster dogs. Out of State Adoptions We do adopt out of state to outstanding applicants, however, our process requires a home visit, so out of state adoptions can take longer.  We do not ship our dogs, adopters should be prepared to pick up the dog in Central Ohio.  December 2, 2024, 7:32 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Pretty Girl! This little pretty has not had an easy go of it, as she spent many days in emergency care for Parvo and then some (over $8,000 in vet bills!)  Pretty Girl is healthy now and making up for lost time. She is a petite princess and can sometimes be bossy with other dogs.  She has had some exposure to cats in her current foster home. The cats there do not put up with dog nonsense. She is ready to have all your attention to herself. She can be a little timid and unsure so she will need to have your heart and your time.  Because of her rough past, she can be a flight risk.  She will need a physical 3 foot fenced yard that she cannot escape from and since she is so tiny, their can't be any spaces she will fit through. Pretty Girl is still working on leash training so a secured area will be the safest place to get her used to her new family and a leash.  Just be patient with her and you won’t be disappointed.  Pretty Girl is working on using the doggie door and piddle pads in her foster home. If you want the cutest addition to your home – turn in an application!  She is ready for a stable and safe home. Columbus and surrounding areas only please. If you're interested in adopting, the first step in our adoption process is to submit an application on our website, www.dashanimalrescue.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 4, 2024, 1:55 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Meet Toby. Toby is a five-year-old, neutered male chihuahua. No kids. Poor Toby was abused by his previous owners and then left behind to fend for himself after the abusers moved out. Toby is doing great learning to trust humans. Toby is dog selective when it comes to other dogs but is fine with most dogs his size. Toby is doing great on crate training and can be crated after his foster mom worked with him on crating. Toby knows how to use a doggy door and will use a pee pad if he doesn't have access to the doggy door. Toby is very smart and loves all the attention he can get. He loves to spend time hanging out on your lap for love and attention.  Toby would be great as an only dog or could coexist with a friendly dog of his choice of course! Toby knows to sit and knows the word no. Toby is vocal when seeing other dogs. Ok with his foster mom's cat.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 2, 2024, 3:49 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online Adoption Application › Introducing the one, the only - Prince Love. This handsome guy who is now part of our Foster to Adopt Program received so much love in his foster home and learned to trust and give love back. She says he is such a sweetheart! Prince is currently part of DASH's Prison Training Program where he is learning basic commands and puppy manners. His trainer says this little guy loves to play with his toys but also loves being a lap dog in his favorite snuggle position. He is a lot of fun, loves to play and gets along with other dogs. He can be very vocal at times, especially when he sees someone so he would not be the best fit for an apartment. He enjoys an occasional visit on the furniture and can be a little sound sensitive. He can also be protective of his people. At times he will jump on his humans but he's just really happy to be so loved. This guy is a crowd pleaser, so don't wait to turn in an application.  *Note: Prince is part of our Foster to Adopt program. Apply now if you are interested in testing how he would acclimate in your home*  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 16, 2024, 5:36 pm
