Hello! My name is Candy here at the shelter and yes, I am a sweet girl! Santa asked me what I wanted for Christmas and I told him that I wanted a forever loving home. I enjoy going on walks and getting fresh air, take treats nicely from hand and if given a chance I would be happy to keep a lap warm. If you would like to meet me the shelter can be reached at 937-498-7201. Lobby hours are Monday-Friday 9-5 and Saturday 9-12. Open kennel hours are Monday-Friday 12-4 with Saturday by appointment.

I rescued Toby a few months ago but I have a busy schedule and can no longer keep him. Toby is very shy at first but once he gets used to you he is nothing but a cuddle bug. I will only give him to a loving home and I prefer him to be an only pet with someone who will be there with him Mos of the time.

Hey there! I’m Poncho! I’m an 11-week-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix, weighing in at 12 lbs of pure love and joy! I’m all about running, playing, and having a blast, but when it comes down to it, cuddling is my favorite thing to do. I’m a big fan of snuggling up and giving all the puppy kisses! I get along great with cats—there’s one in my foster home, and I totally ignore her. I’m focused on playing and spending time with my humans. I’m also working on my potty training and getting better every day! Fewer accidents, more progress! Did I mention I’m one of the sweetest pups you’ll ever meet? If you’re looking for a playful, cuddly little lovebug, I’m your guy! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. Billy is a very sweet but shy boy who barely escaped death with his buddy Butch. They were already in the euth room in a shelter in Texas, but fortunately we were able to pull them just in time. Billy and Butch were roaming the streets with a few other dogs when they were picked up by ACS. It has been a rough start to life for these two, but we are hoping they will find a wonderful family to show them that life can be good and not all humans are bad or scary. They are definitely bonded and must be kept together. Billy adjusted pretty quickly, but little Butch is frightened and less trusting and will take a little longer to warm up. Butch was so frightened when arriving to us, but who wouldnt have been. Picked up as a stray with his buddy, Billy. Taken to the shelter where he was minutes from losing his life. Then transported across the country with lots of other barking and frightened pups. It’s been a whirlwind of stressful events. But even so, Butch began to relax slightly after a few days and after a week he allowed us to touch him. It just takes a little time and patience. Billy warms up a lot faster, but with time these two will be a delightful addition to any family. We are looking for someone with the time and patience to bring the best out in this sweet boy who Wants so badly to trust and believe there is good that exists in this scary world. At not quite three weeks we are now receiving kisses from Butch. Both boys are vaccinated, neutered, flea and tick treated and microchipped.
