Story
Are you the type of person that likes to give sweet older pups a chance they might otherwise not get? Sweetie loves attention and will happily help you out by guarding the door of the bathroom from the inside. However, she can also be quite the independent little lady and doesn’t need to be a velcro dog… unless you want her to be! Sweetie can be a little bossy with her dog friends (part of why we think she’s mixed with chihuahua!) but generally gets along well with everyone. Sweetie is a beauty but would benefit from a little tough love when it comes to feeding and giving out treats and a little more activity in her day. A physically fenced yard is required. Sweetie is available for adoption in Ohio to residents of Ohio. Story
Meet Spruff! This little cutie was brought in as a stray, and unfortunately is having a rough stay in the big, scary shelter. Spruff is nervous with strangers and prefers to hang back and take it slow with new people, so a family that will give him ample time to adjust and decompress is necessary. Once he is comfortable with you, Spruff is a sweet and energetic boy with all that typical Chihuahua puppy personality! Because Spruff can be nervous with people, he would do best in a quiet, low traffic home with older children. If you have other animals in your home, we recommend bringing them in for a meet and greet before taking Spruff home. If you are interested in meeting with Spruff, please submit an adoption form on our website: fairfieldcountydogs.com and we will contact you to arrange a time to visit. Story
WolfMaleAge: 1 yearWeight: 25 lbsBreed: Chihuahua Mix Hi! I’m Wolf. I am a playful and curious guy who gets along great with other dogs. I have not been around cats or kids to know how I would do around them yet. I am house trained and am working on crate training, and because my crate still makes a little nervous, I would prefer to be confined to a small, safe space like a laundry room or kitchen while you’re gone for the workday. I am learning to walk on my leash too. I am still a little nervous when there are too many sounds, but when I do an early morning walk and it's quiet my foster mom says I do really well. I seem to learn best when I am around other dogs (I really like to play with my fur siblings), so I would thrive really well in a home with another dog. One of my favorite things to do is play and get my young dog energy out. I love cheese and bones and I really enjoy cuddling. I also like to lounge around, go to the park and take my calm walks. I cannot wait to find my very own active family who will give me all the love and attention I deserve and who will be patient with me as I learn what being a dog means. If you are interested in meeting this shy but curious young guy, apply to adopt him at: www.causeforcanines.org. Adoption fee: $350. Must be an Ohio resident and 23 or older. Children must be 5 years old or older.  ##2042817##

Story
This is Andy and he comes to us seeking a forever home with patient adopters! Andy was running as a stray and all the signs are there that he had a difficult/abusive past. Andy needs his time to get settled in and get to know you, which is just a few days. He loves being near you, indoor life (especially couches), a yard where he can watch the birds and Andy loves to eat! Andy is approximately 4 years old and about 22 pounds. Andy would love to start his live with family that will love him for who he is. He has a lot of love to give to that special person who will earn his trust. Apply to meet Andy at ricopetrecovery.org. Fee is $250.

Story
This adorable pair of puppies, Nana (female) and Poppy (male), are a bonded duo that may be skittish at first but are quick to love. They enjoy snuggling under blankets and showering you and each other with kisses.Nana is a little more shy at first but warms up quickly. She keeps Poppy in line with her nurturing personality. These cuties are estimated to be about 4-5 months old and appear to be a playful mix of pug, beagle and Chihuahua. They were found as strays so this is our best guess. They are both doing well with potty training. They are fine with other dogs of similar size or medium size. They are also fine with cats. Poppy is comfortable with bigger dogs, but Nana was afraid when she met a much bigger dog. Their sweet bond and loving nature make them the perfect companions for anyone looking for double the love. Poppy and Nana are a bonded pair and must be adopted together.Apply to meet them at ricopetrecovery.orgAdoption fee is $350
