🐾 Meet Baby Face Nelson! 🐾Baby Face Nelson is one of the brave 13 dogs rescued from a hoarding situation in a neighboring county. These tough little survivors spent their days outside, waiting for food and water to arrive, sharing a small pen with 11 other dogs. 🌧️ For that reason, we named them after famous tough guys and gals!Despite his past, Baby Face Nelson is a sweet boy with a friendly demeanor around new people. He’s eager to connect and is very social with people and other dogs. Although having never spent a lot of time with larger dogs they can be a bit scary at first upon meeting them. 💖Baby Face Nelson is still learning about all the fun things that can happen from leash walks. We do not know how he is with cats. We recommend a week-long foster-to-adopt trial to ensure it’s a good fit. Since Baby Face Nelson hasn’t lived with children before, we suggest that any kids in the home come to meet him before adoption. Give Baby Face Nelson the loving home she deserves and watch him blossom! 🏡✨Baby Face Nelson is estimated to be around 6 months old. He is thought to be a mix of chihuahua and Terrier. Baby Face Nelson weighs 14 lbs and may get a bit bigger before he is full grown. Baby Face Nelson is vaccinated, flea & tick treated, microchipped, and will be scheduled for his neuter. Baby Face Nelson's adoption fee is $300. RCHS does not conduct DNA tests on dogs who enter our facility therefore we are unable to guarantee breed or breed mix. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.

This little pretty has not had an easy go of it, as she spent many days in emergency care for Parvo and then some (over $8,000 in vet bills!) Pretty Girl is healthy now and making up for lost time. She is a petite princess and can sometimes be bossy with other dogs. She has had some exposure to cats in her current foster home. The cats there do not put up with dog nonsense. She is ready to have all your attention to herself. She can be a little timid and unsure so she will need to have your heart and your time. Because of her rough past, she can be a flight risk. She will need a physical 3 foot fenced yard that she cannot escape from and since she is so tiny, their can't be any spaces she will fit through. Pretty Girl is still working on leash training so a secured area will be the safest place to get her used to her new family and a leash. Just be patient with her and you won’t be disappointed. Pretty Girl is working on using the doggie door and piddle pads in her foster home. If you want the cutest addition to your home – turn in an application! She is ready for a stable and safe home. Poor Toby was abused by his previous owners and then left behind to fend for himself after the abusers moved out. Toby is doing great learning to trust humans. Toby is dog selective when it comes to other dogs but is fine with most dogs his size. Toby is doing great on crate training and can be crated after his foster mom worked with him on crating. Toby knows how to use a doggy door and will use a pee pad if he doesn't have access to the doggy door. Toby is very smart and loves all the attention he can get. He loves to spend time hanging out on your lap for love and attention. Toby would be great as an only dog or could coexist with a friendly dog of his choice of course! Toby knows to sit and knows the word no. Toby is vocal when seeing other dogs. This handsome guy who is now part of our Foster to Adopt Program is receiving so much love in his current foster home. She says he is such a sweetheart! Prince was previously part of DASH's Prison Training Program where he learned his basic puppy manners. He is a lot of fun, loves to play and gets along with other dogs. He can be very vocal at times, especially when he sees someone so he would not be the best fit for an apartment. He enjoys an occasional visit on the furniture and can be a little sound sensitive. He can also be protective of his people. At times he will jump on his humans but he's just really happy to be so loved.
