Coco loves her walks and will even tell her foster mom when it’s walk time! This little Chihuahua mix is happy to nap on the couch or go for a long walk - as long as she’s with her person. She does well with her foster cat siblings. She is good with respectful older kids but hasn’t been tested around toddlers. We are working on potty training and she is almost there! She loves going for a ride in the car! Fill out an application at www.maggiesmissionrescue.org

Story
HAKUNA MATATA! Meet Simba! 🦁 Everything the light touches could be his kingdom—but he’d much rather it be your living room! This 6-year-old Chihuahua mix is ready to take his rightful place on your throne (or, you know, the sofa). At a sturdy 12 lbs, Simba is a "mighty king" in a compact package. He was rescued by a Good Samaritan about a year ago, and while his life before that is a mystery, his future is looking bright! He’s currently thriving in foster care and proving he’s got a heart as big as the Pride Lands. The "Roar": True to his breed, Simba likes to make sure everyone knows he’s coming! He can be a bit vocal on walks (he's just practicing his roar), but don't let the noise fool you—he is dog-friendly and gets along great with his peers. The Royal Decree: Our King has a bit of a sensitive neck—likely an old injury that developed into some arthritis. Because of this, he requires a harness for all his adventures rather than a traditional collar. It keeps him comfortable and ruling with ease! Simba is fully vetted and just had a dental so his smile is pearly white! Simba is looking for a "Pride" of his own to love him forever. No worries, no cares—just a lifetime of loyalty. Ready to welcome the King? Apply to adopt Simba today! 🐾 Email therescueinn@gmail.com AND complete and application here: https://therescueinn.com/adoption-application.html

Story
Charlie just turned 3 years old — a birthday she spent, once again, behind the walls of the shelter she’s called home for almost a year and a half. 🥀She’s a beautiful Rottweiler/Retriever mix with the softest eyes and the sweetest soul… but you’ll have to earn the chance to see that side of her. Charlie struggles with meeting new people — the world hasn’t always been kind to her — but if someone could just give her a few chances, visit her a couple of times, sit quietly nearby and let her heart unfold on its own… they’d find the most loyal, gentle, loving dog waiting underneath the fear. 💔Once she trusts you, she’s pure sunshine — a snuggly, kiss-giving, tail-wagging angel who will follow you anywhere. She walks beautifully on a leash, rides calmly in the car, and loves to stretch her legs running around the yard before curling up in a soft bed or a pile of blankets. She doesn’t care much for toys — she just wants love, safety, and someone to finally stay. 🐾Charlie has done well with some dogs here, but she takes her time getting comfortable — both with people and other pets. She’d do best in a quiet, low-traffic home with no young kids or cats. She’s a staff and volunteer favorite because we’ve seen the real her — the dog that greets you with kisses, melts into your lap, and looks at you like you’re her entire world. 🌙We keep telling her that her person is out there. That someone will see past the nerves and realize what a once-in-a-lifetime dog she truly is. But with every day that passes, she waits a little longer.Maybe you’re the one she’s been waiting for. 🖤More information? Story
This is Jax, and he’s hurting in a way dogs can’t explain.Jax is an older guy who lost the only home he ever knew when his owner passed away. One day he had a person, a routine, and a place where he belonged… and the next, he was here. He didn’t do anything wrong. His world just disappeared.Even now, Jax still has so much life in him. He’s surprisingly energetic for his age, a little spunky, a little quirky, and full of personality. He seems to enjoy other dogs and does well with kids, and you can tell he wants connection — he just doesn’t know how to ask for it yet.Jax also tested positive for heartworm, but the good news is he has completed treatment. He’s been so brave through it all, quietly enduring vet visits and rest when he didn’t understand why his life had changed so drastically.Older dogs like Jax are often overlooked. They wait longer. They watch people walk past. But Jax isn’t done living or loving. He just needs someone willing to open their heart to a dog who’s already lost everything once.If you have room in your home — and your heart — Jax is waiting. He deserves a soft place to land and a second chance at forever. 🖤🐾More information? Call Marion Area Humane Society at 740-389-6548 or email at manager@mahspets.org
