Story
Ladies, here is the man for you... he prefers women over the male species and is a typical chihuahua who is loyal to his person. He is good with dogs his size. He is around 7 years old and needs a loving home as he approaches his senior years. If you understand those sweet chi personalities and think Bo might be your man, please read on. RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Story
Our sweet boy Barney came from a very bad hoarding situation and was understandably a bit shook up at first. He has since started to warm up to his foster mom and is doing better each day. Timid at first, but if you give him a little time, he is your best buddy. If Barney looks like your boy, please read our adoption procedures and fill out our on line application Listed below is our adoption procedures for Clifford’s Army Rescue. Story
Copper came from a family friend. He was born February 14, 2015, making him 10 years old. I am looking for a home that can take care of him and spoil him. Copper enjoys playing with his favorite little squeaky dog. He has been in a household that had another small dog, but the last three years he has been the only dog. He has done well with the children in his current home. Copper enjoys the sunshine, but he definitely has a favorite spot on the couch. He currently sleeps on the furniture with a soft blanket.

Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Animal ID 251302Date into Rescue: 06/29/2024 Reason for being in rescue: Rocky was surrendered by his owners to a NC shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled him from the shelter  Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Rocky is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.  Weight: 15.5 lbs Height: 14 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? No, but he would enjoy one What kind of home would be best for me? Rocky is a very loyal and protective companion, but Rocky also has some strong opinions, and one of them is very clear: He does not trust men and is NOT a fan of their company. For this reason, he's looking for a home where he can feel safe, loved and more importantly understood. Rocky is the perfect companion for a patient, confident woman who appreciates a dog with just a little spice! What can we say - this boy is all chihuahua! Because Rocky has such a strong personality, he will need to be placed with a dog-savy adopter who has experience with dogs like Rocky or is familiar with the breed and their quirks. Rocky's ideal home is a single, female adopter with no children or men in the home. He does not mind other dogs, and we think he would enjoy having another dog around, but it is not required. Rocky would also love to have a small fenced in yard as well, but it is not required as long as his adopter plans to give him plenty of walks, exercise and playtime! Most importantly, Rocky needs someone who is willing to respect his boundaries and accept his quirks.  What is my personality like? Rocky and his 3 children were surrendered by their owners to a NC animal shelter. No reason was given. Maybe they were puppies that didn't sell. There was no mama dog with the family. Regardless, we are thankful they are with us. Meet Rocky! A spunky chocolate boy with a big personality packed into his tiny frame! He's a feisty, independent boy who is a true sweetheart — if you're the right person. Rocky is very intelligent and does great with potty training and basic manners. Once Rocky trusts you, he becomes your shadow. He will follow you around the house, snuggle up on your couch and protect you from any potential intruders! He's the epitome of all things Chihuahua! He loves squeaky toys, yummy treats and basking in the sun ... Rocky deserves a human who sees his quirks as unique traits instead of challenges. If you're a woman who's looking for an independent, adorable, sassy and endlessly entertaining companion, Rocky is ready to give you his whole heart — on his terms of course. How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: Rocky is estimated at 6 years old. We celebrate his birthday 06/29/2018. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. December 5, 2024, 9:35 am

Gilbert is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.  Weight: 10.2 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $349 Fence needed? No, but a fence is a great safety feature for any dog. What kind of home would be best for me? Gilbert would adapt well to a variety of living situations, whether it’s a house or apartment so long as he gets extended play time outside. Gilbert will do well with a single person, a couple, or a family. Gilbert will not be adopted to families with children younger than five years old. Gilbert’s life has always been filled with other dogs. From the start it was his brothers and now it is the variety pack that lives in the house here at the farm with him. He would do well in a home with another dog to model his behavior after. If you do not have another dog, Gilbert needs a solid plan for play and socialization with other dogs.  Socialization occurs when dogs are off leash and free to be themselves, unencumbered by human restraints (other than the fence that keeps them safely contained). Socialization times would be for instance, inviting a neighbor or friend over with their dog to play in your fenced yard or going to someone else’s home to play in their fence yard. Socialization time could be doggy daycare. Socialization time could be a group walk if you include a playtime at the end of it. Training classes do not always include socialization time. Some puppy classes do include a period of time at the end where the dogs can romp and play together. This would be perfectly acceptable. Time can also take place inside the home, it does not have to be an outdoor area, as long as the dogs are free to interact with each other without leashes or other restraints. If you’re looking for an adventurous, happy-go-lucky pup who’ll be by your side for all of life’s fun moments, Gilbert is your guy! He’ll bring smiles, playfulness, and unconditional love into your life. Come meet this sweet boy and see for yourself why everyone calls him “Mr. Happy Feet!” What is my personality like? Say hello to Gilbert, or as his caregivers call him, Mr. Happy Feet. Gilbert is a joyful little puppy looking for his forever home. He was surrendered to an animal shelter with his two brothers after the passing of his owner. Now he’s ready to find a loving family to share his infectious happiness with! Gilbert is a true social butterfly! He’s friendly, playful, and loves everyone he meets, both people and dogs. His signature move - his little dance-like strut when he walks – it’s like he’s always in a good mood and ready to spread some joy. He’s also quite vocal and seems to “talk” back when you chat with him. Whether he’s prancing around or snuggling up for a nap, Gilbert is always a bundle of happiness in motion! This little guy is a puppy so he will need a lot of training. He’ll need to be taught to walk on a leash, he’ll need taught all his basic commands, and he’ll need a strict potty schedule, so he’ll learn to do his business outside. His adopter cannot be away from home for more than four hours per day. You must provide multiple potty breaks throughout the day and night. Gilbert is a young boy and needs play breaks as well as frequent and consistent potty times to aid in potty training. He thrives on attention, companionship, and frequent breaks to help with his potty training. Gilbert is a puppy and has all the qualities one associates with puppies, he’s happy, playful, loving, and untrained.  How do I act when I first meet new people? Hi! Love me and play with me and be my best friend, ok! That’s Gilbert. Other tips and tidbits: There was no information or records found on the scene when Gilbert was seized by animal control.  Our staff and the shelter vet have estimated his birthdate to be on or about 12/27/23 based on teeth and overall behavior. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.
