Story
Meet JLo!  JLo came to PAR from an extreme hoarding situation. She is making good progress at her foster home. Because of her background, this beautiful special girl needs a quiet home with only 1 or 2 people to pamper her. She is very scared of strangers and noises. Given time, she will be your loving shadow, wanting to be wherever you are. Loves car rides and puppaccinos. Other dogs are fun playmates as long as they don't bully her. Cats are ok, too! If you have a patient loving home to offer, apply to meet JLo! Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match. ##1909071##

Story
Squeeks is an adorable laid-back little guy who lights up when it’s time to greet you at the door, hop in the car, or head out for a walk. He loves cuddling and giving kisses, soft blankets, squeaky toys, and antlers. Squeeks is also social with other dogs, getting along well with pups of all sizes. While he loves sleeping in bed with his people, he’s also content to rest in his kennel when asked, and he’s fully house trained. A martingale collar is recommended for Squeeks, as he occasionally tries to back out of his collar if he wants to explore a different path. With his loving personality, Squeeks would make an amazing addition to any family. Story
Greg is a sweet boy born on 04-22-2023. He loves affection, playing with kids and other dogs. He minds his property and does not run away. Greg was fully potty house-trained by his 1st birthday. I let a family member move into my home and Greg started to regress mainly because the family member would not let him out when needed. Greg is a great little dog and it breaks my heart to rehome him. I know it’s best for him to be in a consistent home. Greg is registered with the AKC.

Story
Ladies, here is the man for you... he prefers women over the male species and is a typical chihuahua who is loyal to his person. He is good with dogs his size. He is around 7 years old and needs a loving home as he approaches his senior years. If you understand those sweet chi personalities and think Bo might be your man, please read on. RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home.
