Story
This is a courtesy post. Please do not contact Heart of the Foothills Animal Rescue. Contact information is provided in the description below.Bourbon is a sweet and affectionate 12-year-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix who's looking for a loving, low-stress home. He weighs about 15 lbs. This loyal companion is well past his puppy days but still has plenty of love to give.Bourbon is calm, loving, and great with adults. He is healthy and well-cared for. He is neutered, housebroken, and up-to-date on vaccinations. He walks well on a leash. Bourbon is good with other dogs, but not cats or children. He likes to be the center of attention, so if he was an only dog, that would be ideal for him - but he'd be fine in a home with other dogs too. The ideal home for him would be a quiet home with no young children or cats.If you're looking for a devoted companion who will be by your side, Bourbon is the perfect match. He's looking for a forever home where he can live out his senior years in comfort and love.If you think Bourbon could be a good fit for your home, please reach out to Margot at 929-522-8995 or by email at margot.r.miranda@gmail.com

Story
Ladies, here is the man for you... he prefers women over the male species and is a typical chihuahua who is loyal to his person. He is good with dogs his size. He is around 7 years old and needs a loving home as he approaches his senior years. If you understand those sweet chi personalities and think Bo might be your man, please read on. RECOMMENDATIONS & PROCEDURES Please note, the following are recommendations for puppies and different breeds of dogs. We will evaluate each application on an individual basis to see what is best for the dog/puppy and the potential adopter. Puppies are very fragile and not toys. We recommend children be at least six years old to be considered to adopt a puppy. Small breed dogs ( such as chihuahuas, yorkies, shih tzus , etc) we recommend children be at least eight years old. Herding, working breeds we recommend children to be at least 12 years old. Again these are recommendations. Adoption Procedures: We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. Most of our dogs come from bad situations and we want to know where their forever home is going to be. While we do not require fencing on all dogs, certain dogs that need a fenced in yard, will not be adopted unless potential adopter has one. We also adopt some dogs to people who live in apartments ( as long as the landlord approves) but not all dogs. We do not adopt to anyone under 21 years of age. We also do not feel college students are the best fit for most of our dogs. Most of our dogs again, come from bad situations and need lots of attention. Most college students have financial responsibilities and we feel need to be focused on school. Our goal is to match the dog with a family that fits the dog’s needs. We are solely focused on what is best for each dog in our rescue. These dogs have had enough moving around, dumped out like trash, and we want to ensure they find their forever home. We do require you sign a contract and if at any time you cannot continue to provide for the dog, the dog comes back to the rescue. Your first step to adoption is filling our our on line application. You will then get an automated email stating we got your application Next our adoption coordinator will be in touch either by phone or email If your references check out, a home visit will be scheduled. After the home visit is done, a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in and/or any other available dogs we have will be scheduled If the dog and you are a match, contract will be signed and you may take your new family member home. Story
Our sweet boy Barney came from a very bad hoarding situation and was understandably a bit shook up at first. He has since started to warm up to his foster mom and is doing better each day. Timid at first, but if you give him a little time, he is your best buddy. If Barney looks like your boy, please read our adoption procedures and fill out our on line application Listed below is our adoption procedures for Clifford’s Army Rescue. We will travel up to two hours ( one way) to do physical home visits and we do not do virtual home visits. Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Animal ID 251302Date into Rescue: 06/29/2024 Reason for being in rescue: Rocky was surrendered by his owners to a NC shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled him from the shelter  Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Rocky is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative.  Weight: 15.5 lbs Height: 14 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? No, but he would enjoy one What kind of home would be best for me? Mickey is ready to learn and grow. He's never known life without the companionship of other dogs, but would be okay as your best and only buddy if you have a solid plan for play and socialization. Rocky knows very little about basic training, but is eager to learn. We're looking for a home that will be committed to positive reinforcement training with this sweet prince. Rocky will be happy in an apartment or single family home, just don't leave him home alone all day with no company. He really wants to be where you are. What is my personality like? Rocky and his 3 children were surrendered by their owners to a NC animal shelter. No reason was given. Maybe they were puppies that didn't sell. There was no mama dog with the family. Regardless, we are thankful they are with us. Handsome Rocky has the deepest chocolate coloring and most soulful eyes. He's clearly a man that has seen a lot, full of wisdom beyond his years. Rocky is a gentleman among peers - confident, quiet and eager to please. He has a gentle demeanor that asks for someone to make him their prince.  How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: Rocky is estimated at 6 years old. We celebrate his birthday 06/29/2018. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. November 5, 2024, 5:31 pm
