Story
Sweet Buster - Buster was a last minute pull from the shelter because he was getting ready to be euthanized along with several others that had to be caught by animal control after their owner moved into a nursing home and none of them had been socialized or outside the home but out of all of them (we were able to save all 6 of them) Buster was the worst and the shelter could not lay their hands on him. I knew if given the proper time he would come around but he had to do it on his terms and that was never going to happen at a noisy shelter. So we loaded him up and I brought him home to foster. I gave him his space and time but would sit on the floor and talk softly to him - within 3 days he was taking treats out of my hand and by the end of the week he would crawl into my lap and lay upside down and want his belly rubbed. Today I can do anything to the little guy as I earned his trust and he will give that trust out but it will take just the right home that understands that Buster needs to do it on his terms and needs time and patience. The one thing we have learned is that Buster has a fear of men - he has been with me for months and still does not trust my husband but we know that before coming to the rescue there was a male family member that was not so kind to these dogs and Buster has not forgotten that - we are aiming to find him a home where there are no men in the house which we have done for a couple of our dogs over the years so we know it is possible. We feel like putting him in a home with a male figure is only going to make him stay on edge all the time and that is no way to live. He is a small little guy at 6 pounds and he is estimated to be a little over a year old. He has made leaps and bounds with his housebreaking but will need consistency and patience when going to a new place. He loves loves loves his toys and his cuddle round bed. He loves other animals and would benefit from another dog in learning the ropes. Buster will also require a fenced in yard as we feel that is best for him. While he has been around a child in his foster home and after time has done well - we do recommend no small children Buster is neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, current on heartworm prevention and flea/tick medication. His adoption fee is 250.00. If you are interested in Buster, please go to our website and fill out our adoption application - we will not set any meet and greets up until that application is filled out. We do require vet references and a home visit. Buster honestly is one amazing little dog and once you earn his trust - he gives you his whole heart and he is a total little love. He loves to be held like a baby and loves to have that belly rubbed. A lot of heart went into rehabbing this little guy so please read the description before filling out the application. We do not set our dogs up for failure and that is why we have certain requirements as they are with us 24/7 in our homes, so we know what would be the perfect fit for them.

Story
And another one of the three that were brought to our vets office to be euthanized for NO good reason is ready to find a home to call his own - little Chinto. Chinto is estimated to be 7 years old and weighs 18 pounds - a small little guy that is also mostly blind - but he can see shadows and has no issues getting around He prefers it inside and we think it is possibly because he lived outside his entire life before coming to the rescue - but this boy does love some sunshine on his face. Chinto is currently in a foster home with 3 other small dogs and with proper introductions , he has done great - we do believe he would do best in a home with dogs his size - he is not really a cuddler or a lap dog but given time he may be but he wants to be in close vicinity of his people. He would be great for a person that is just wanting a dog to keep them company as he would be perfect for that. He does fine being left alone and gets so excited regardless if it is 15 minutes or 2 hours - just super excited someone is back home. He had no idea what toys were when he came to the rescue but has learned to play with them and enjoy them. He also does well going for car rides Because he is mostlyd blind sudden movements can scare him - so we recommend no small kids. He adjusted to his surroundings in his foster home quickly being blind so we know he will adjust to a new home quickly as well. We would prefer a fenced in yard for him This little man just needs a family to love and appreciate him, because he is a great little dog and for the first time in his life realized that life as a loved dog is pretty good and he is enjoying it If you are interested in adopting Chinto - please go to our website www.boxerbuttsandothermutts.org and fill out one of our adoption applications. He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, has had bloodwork done, microchipped, dewormed, current on monthly heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention and we got his ear issues that had been left untreated before coming to the rescue resolved. His adoption fee is $250.00. He is being fostered in Hendersonville,NC So if you are looking for some good company - look no further - Chinto is your guy for sure. As a reminder - we are volunteer based and work on processing the applications as soon as we get them but sometimes it is taking vets offices (yes we do reference checks) a couple of days to get back to us. We also require a home visit

Meet Briar!  She’s sassy, she’s sweet and she’s so cute you have to meet! Are you a fan of tiny adorable chihuahuas!?! Do you want a little dog to curl up in your lap on the couch with a snuggly blanket? Do you want a cute dog curled up at your side while you sleep? Do you want a spunky little dog following you all over the house and yard? Then you want Briar! This funny little girl is a very young 9. She will fly down the stairs, climb onto the couch and bed and go anywhere you go with speed and agility! When she wants to be picked up she will do a little dance! Briar is such a typical chihuahua! She was under socialized in her previous home and needs a patient adopted who can go slow with her at first. Once she knows you just want to love her and feed her, then she becomes your obsessive shadow. Briar tolerates other dogs but doesn’t want them invading her space. She prefers to hog her humans attention and get it all to herself. Due to Briars skittish and fearful behavior, she needs to go into a home with a secured fenced in yard and no young kids. Briar is house trained and knows that couches are for cuddles. Come meet your next cuddle buddy!     She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and current with all vaccines (as appropriate for her age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Briar is currently being fostered in South Carolina.   ADOPT BRIAR!! www.LuckyPupRescueSC.com The adoption fee is $300.00 and we require a vet check and home visit. February 11, 2025, 3:58 pm

Story
Meet Wren!  Wren is physically 11yrs old but she acts like she is 8. Wren LOVES playing! She’s got so much spunk in her! She’s sweet and spicy. She loves a good nap but has big crazy bursts of energy! She may be on meds for arthritis pain but she will still insist on running up and down the stairs and jumping and rolling around on beds. Nothing will slow this girl down! She will wrestle and play with other foster Briar! Wren loves food and burrowing in blankets. She loves a good head scratch and playing fetch. Wren wasn’t socialized enough in her previous home. Due to this she gets fiesty when you touch her paws, try to collar or leash her and try to put her into a travel carrier. Getting a sweater on her took patience and treat bribes. While she’d love to play with kids, we believe in safety first. Wren should go to a home with no young kids. Tweens-teens who know not to grab her and pick her up and respect her space when needed would be okay. Wren is dog friendly. She enjoys yard time and needs a fenced in yard. She truly is a funny little girl who will keep you on your toes!   Wren’s hair loss is due to being hypothyroid and living without medication for so long. She is now on medication and hair is returning. Adopter will need to continue her meds and monitoring thyroid levels.   She is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, and current with all vaccines (as appropriate for her age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Wren is currently being fostered in South Carolina.   ADOPT WREN!! www.LuckyPupRescueSC.com The adoption fee is $300.00 and we require a vet check and home visit. February 20, 2025, 4:47 pm

Story
Meet Rusty!  Rusty is a sweet 7yr old Chihuahua mix with very long legs and a sweet little face. He keeps to himself and sleeps all day under the blanket.. he loves any and all blankets! He’s the best snuggler too and will sleep close to you and be your best friend. When he gets the zoomies he is so fast and he uses his long legs as a spring board!  He sleeps through the night as well. He is a little shy at first and likes other dogs as well. He is ok alone and a crate isn’t needed for this little guy. Rusty is a perfect mix between an independent dog under the blankets and a lap dog. Rusty is very easy and sweet and is available for adoption.   He is neutered, dewormed, microchipped, current with all vaccines (as appropriate for his age) and on flea and heartworm prevention. Rusty is currently being fostered in South Carolina. ADOPT RUSTY!! www.LuckyPupRescueSC.com The adoption fee is $300.00 and we require a vet check and home visit.     March 11, 2025, 8:45 am
