IDGSR Welcomes KEVIN into the safety of the rescue!! THIS DOG IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE & AVAILABLE FOR TRANSPORT ************** Well howdy, folks! Name’s Kevin, and I reckon I might just be the smallest German Shepherd this side of Nashville, Tennessee… trapped in a Chihuahua/Terrier body. Don’t let my size fool ya—what I lack in height, I make up for in heart, grit, and a whole lotta personality. Quick Facts: Age - 7-months old Kids - will do fine with kids Dogs - great with other dogs Cats - probably no cats 1. At 7 months old, I’m still a young buck, full of curiosity and charm. 2. I’ve got a funny little bob-tail that wiggles faster than a tumbleweed in a windstorm, and a coat that looks straight outta the German Shepherd handbook. I’m startin’ to think I might be an undercover deputy from the Shepherd ranks—just disguised in a compact package! 3. I get along mighty fine with other dogs, and I’d fit right in whether you’re livin’ in a ranch, apartment, condo, or townhome—I’m not picky about my corral. 4. I’m still workin’ on house and crate trainin’, but I’m a quick learner if you’ve got some patience and a few treats up your sleeve. 5. I’ll need a good ol’ dose of obedience trainin’, but partner, once I learn the ropes, I’ll be your most loyal sidekick on every adventure. 6. So what do you say, cowboy (or cowgirl)? Saddle up and adopt me —the tiny sheriff with the Shepherd soul! **SERIOUS APPLICANTS ONLY! Story
Bear is an 18-month-old Chihuahua/scruffy terrier mix weighing just 9 pounds, but don’t let his size fool you — this little guy has a huge personality and an endless supply of joy. Playful, confident, and endlessly entertaining, Bear is a natural goofball who lives to make people laugh and dogs his best friends. Recently, Bear became a proud dog dad to six beautiful puppies born around October 10th. He came from a home that was overwhelmed with dogs and puppies, where the family simply didn’t have the resources to spay or neuter the adults. Despite the chaos of his early life, Bear has emerged happy, resilient, and full of love. One thing is very clear — Bear thrives when he has canine companionship. Having grown up surrounded by other dogs, he truly needs at least one young, active dog in his forever home to feel secure and content. He also benefits from humans who enjoy long, brisk walks, playtime, and interactive fun. Squeaky toys and rope toys are his absolute favorites. Bear is still learning the basics of pet life, but he’s making wonderful progress. He sleeps through the night in his crate and chooses it as his safe space during the day. He’s new to leash walking but is catching on quickly with daily practice, and his house-training is coming along nicely. Having just been neutered, Bear wears a belly band indoors while he learns not to mark — and he handles it like a champ. Bear is fantastic with other dogs and does well with cats, too. With his adorable wiry coat, bright eyes, and sharp mind, he’s eager to learn and will quickly pick up any manners or training his new family wants to teach. Despite a rough start, Bear’s happiness was never dimmed — in fact, it shines brighter each day in his calm, loving foster home. If you’re looking for a joyful little companion who will bring laughter, energy, and love into your life, Bear is ready to start fresh and be your loyal sidekick.   Please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you’re interested in adopting Bear.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 14, 2025, 1:26 pm

Story
Meet Dakota — a handsome 3-year-old Deer Head Chihuahua with soulful eyes and an 8-pound frame that holds a world of emotion. Just three months ago, his life was turned upside down. His loving mom became seriously ill and had to leave her home in New York to stay with friends in Tennessee. She was told Dakota and his sister, Cheyenne, could come… but months later, that welcome was withdrawn. Heartbroken and with nowhere else to turn, their mom had to let them go.   Critter Cavalry Rescue stepped in immediately—because dogs who lose everything deserve a chance to feel safe again.   Dakota is still processing all the sudden changes in his young life. He is gentle and sweet, but understandably nervous, especially after living in a place where he wasn’t truly wanted. At first, he may hesitate when you reach out—but with a little patience, he leans in, softens, and may even offer a tiny kiss to show he’s trying to trust.   He finds comfort with other dogs—especially his sister—and loves to cuddle with them or burrow under a blanket when he feels unsure. Dakota is pee-pad trained, walks well on a leash, and loves following his foster mom from room to room, quietly seeking connection and reassurance.   More than anything, Dakota needs stability, a calm home, and someone who truly understands the tender nature of Chihuahuas. With love, patience, and a kind heart, he will blossom into the devoted, affectionate boy he so badly wants to be.   At Critter Cavalry Rescue, we promise dogs like Dakota that their heartbreak isn’t the end of their story. They will learn to trust again—and we are looking for the person who will help him do just that.   If you can picture yourself being the one to help Dakota heal, contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.This deserving little boy is ready for a gentle, loving forever home   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 21, 2025, 3:14 pm

Story
Herman is our  “Small Dog with Big Loyalty”    Hi, I’m Herman — a 5-year-old chocolate and tan Chihuahua weighing in at a perfect 10 pounds. I’m a gentle, well-behaved little guy who’s ready to find a loving, dependable home just in time for the holidays. My life took an unexpected turn when my former owner and his partner split up, and suddenly there was no place for me anymore. Through no fault of my own, I found myself without a home — but not without hope. A kind coworker made sure I stayed safe and out of the shelter, and soon after, Critter Cavalry Rescue welcomed me in and promised to help me find the forever family I deserve. I’m an easy companion to love. I’m housebroken, calm, snuggly, and respectful of my space and yours. I don’t chew things up, and I truly just want to be near my person — whether that’s curled up on the couch or keeping you company during quiet moments. I’m healthy, recently neutered, and ready to start my next chapter with someone who understands that loyalty like mine is for life. I may be small, but my heart is huge, and I promise to love you fully and faithfully. If you’re looking for a sweet, steady companion to welcome into your home and heart for 2026 and beyond, I could be your perfect match. Please reach out to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com to learn more about adopting me.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comDecember 24, 2025, 12:11 pm

Story
This special little one year old chihuahua is called Magic Maude.  And especially sensitive little girl, that somehow got just a little too round and is on a dedicated exercise in nutrition program to drop some weight.  Currently, she is eighteen pounds and we field that she would be best to be in the ten to twelve pound range as a goal.  She originally was in a chaotic home that animal control had to step in and take away 112 chihuahuas that we're living in the home.  An unfathomable amount of dogs that were not altered, but yet healthy.  When mod came to our rescue and was put in a foster home. She lay there in her crate for days very depressed and emotionally unresponsive.  She barely moved from the one spot she lay in.   Eventually, after almost two weeks, she perked up with the company of few other chihuahuas coming to join her in her large crate.  Soon she was going on walks with the foster. Mom and seemed to enjoy the freedom of being outside, taking in all the new sights and sounds of the neighborhood.  We know she had never been leash walked due to the overcrowding at her original home.  This girl is spayed and healthy and ready to start all over again. She wants love and we promised her a great family who will love her and take her for walks and treat her like the Magic Maude that she is.  She is currently in Nashville, Tennessee, and can be transported to the northeast region as well. Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue  at ccrnewengland@gmail.com  if you want to adopt or know more.  PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.November 7, 2025, 6:32 pm
