Story
Shortie, age 9, was my parents' dog. They both passed away last year. He was not well socialized, and we have worked very hard with him to get him potty trained and used to life beyond their home. He is doing extremely well, all things considered! He can be snappish and moody, but given space and much patience, he loves to be loved and held; as long as it is on his terms. He is missing many teeth and requires soft food. He would do best with snowbirds. Pottying outside in the cold is not his favorite! (And his little nose frostbites in minutes.) He goes outside fine in the good weather. Not recommended for a home with children; they tend to make him nervous, which can illicit growls and snapping. He is quiet most of the time and is happy to sleep the day away. He likes his crate and his doggy bed very much. He'd love a lap to call his own! His little eyes beg for attention. He is not into toys or playing. He loves treats, but we curtailed those to help him achieve his proper weight.

This doesn’t affect his lifestyle too much or quality of life, he just is a little more uncoordinated than your typical dog and wobbles when he walks! He’s the happiest boy! Badger is dog friendly and currently lives in a multi-dog household with many larger dogs! He is always initiating play and hanging out with his crew! This is Buddy, and he can't wait to be yours! Buddy is a sweet young Chihuahua mix that started life off as a feral, until he was caught by a sweet and loving foster. Buddy got the good life after that! Spoiled with treats and given so much love he's developed into a great dog. He's a very friendly boy and does great with pretty much everyone. He would do best in a household with an active family. Buddy does tend to bark at smaller animals so he would do best in a household that doesn't have farm animals or other small pets.
