Story
This cutie is a little over a year old, 11 lbs, and a chihuahua mix. Where to begin…Max was found in a dumpster on the verge of death and brought to a shelter with severe injuries to his back side. Tiny Paws Rescue immediately took on his care and after a thorough examination a large wound was found on his back side. After further inspection, his physician determined that Max had experience severe trauma and there were three, old pelvic fractures that had caused a tear in his urethra which led Max to be unable to urinate. To add to his complications, in order for the urine to escape, a fistulla had formed near his backside wound and became full of infection. After weeks of care at the Tiny Paws headquarters, Max was finally ready for surgery. Although everyone was excited and optomistic, there were fears of what would be found when the surgeon could actually examine Max during surgery. It was discovered that the trauma was deep, but the surgeon was able to successfully repair his urethra. Max had a delicate recovery program that required absolute crate rest and monitoring which needed to be done at the vet hospital. The surgery and hospital stay cost the rescue over $9000, but boy was he worth it, and many people and organizations came together to fundraise. After 5 days at the hospital Max went to his foster home and started healing. Here we are 5 months later and now Max is ready for his forever home. Max will need to be the only dog or with a dog that is extremely tolerant. Max has been through extreme trauma and is easily startled, therefore, loud city living or apartment living will not be appropriate as this little man is quite vocal when he’s agitated. He is pottie and crate trained and needs a home with a very safe yard, as squirrels are his mortal enemies and he will chase them to the moon. Max is so very affectionate with his people - he must be touching you at all times and will snuggle under the covers in bed at night. He is good with his current foster sister, who is a chihuahua and very tolerant, but Max is extremely vocal around larger dogs. Max is learning to trust people and has become a great greeter to people who visit his foster home. His foster family does not believe Max would enjoy large crowds or loud events as it would be too stressful. The perfect fit for Max would be a calm home with people who understand his limitations and will provide support, love, and patience.

Story
Introducing Chase and Ace, a dynamic duo of 2-year-old male Chihuahua mixes from Brooklyn, NY, weighing in at 13 and 15 lbs. These two are as charming as they come, blending the best traits into their sweet, lovable personalities. While they may be a little shy at first, once they settle in, they become loyal, affectionate companions who thrive on attention and cuddles. They love nothing more than curling up with their humans at night and get along great with dogs of all sizes. Both boys are neutered, vaccinated, and making excellent strides with house training, as long as you keep them on a routine. Their bond is unbreakable, so they’re looking for a home ready to welcome them both together. If you're looking for double the love, Chase and Ace are your perfect pair! http://www.peytonsplaceanimalrescue.org/ ##2207900##

Story
Giovanni’s a 1yo 10lb chi/fox terrier mix. He’s dog friendly with slow introductions. He’s pee pad and house trained when kept on a schedule. He loves his people, is very cuddly and prefers to sleep in his person’s lap. He loves to play fetch and chew on toys. He’s very smart, attentive, loving, but can get anxious in new situations that may be scary for him. Giovanni’s foster requires a home, where someone is home often, so not to be left for long periods of time, a secure fenced in yard, another dog that is calm along with leadership, consistency, structure and to continue working on training. If your home DOES NOT meet these requirement’s please DO NOT put an application in. We will not call anyone whose home does not meet the needed requirements. Also, we will be concentrating on local to foster applications 1st since home checks and meets with all humans and animals in home is needed at meet. Our fosters are all volunteers so aren’t always able to travel too far. Giovanni’s neutered, vaccinated, HW negative and microchipped. Currently in Phila, PA. If your home meets the needed requirements and you’re interested in applying to adopt please do so at www.tprescue.org
