Story
Meet Neeko! Neeko is a charming neutered Chihuahua with a big personality packed into his tiny frame. This lovable pup is about 4 years old and weighs only 7pounds, making him the perfect size for cuddles and companionship. He is a true lap baby who wants to be with his person all the time. He even wants to sleep in your bed! Neeko is a loyal little guy who thrives on love and attention. He enjoys snuggling up on laps, going for short walks, and being the center of attention. He would do best in a calm, patient home where he can feel safe and secure. Neeko is great with small dogs and cats and he’s looking for someone who can give him the love and care he deserves. Neeko does have a congenital abnormality in his knees that makes him walk a little funny. He was seen by our vet and will possibly need arthritis meds when he gets older but has no limitations. His funny walk makes him unique! If you’re ready to welcome this sweet pup into your life, Neeko is ready to fill your home with joy and love! He is heartworm negative. Friends of Jackson County Animal Shelter Pets (FJCASP) is a foster-based rescue for dogs and cats. All pets are in a home environment cared for by a foster person who provides temporary care until the pet can be placed in a permanent home. Friends of Jackson County is an all-volunteer, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. If interested in meeting this baby, you can find an online adoption application at https://fjcasp.wufoo.com/forms/adoption-application/ Adoption fees vary and cover spay/neuter, vaccinations, wormers and preventatives. All of our animals have been heart worm tested and are on monthly preventions. You can help save a life by fostering an animal from FJCASP. Story
NEWBIE ALERT!! Meet Bentley! This sweet boy is a dachshund mix who is being surrendered by his family because they can no longer provide for him. He’s 1.5 years old and around 15 ish lbs. He is a sweet boy but is a little timid meeting new people but opens up quick. He’s great with other dogs and does well in the house. He will complete his vetting 5/1/24 and will then be adoption ready.  Our adoptions are NOT on a first come first serve basis and there is no fee to apply! We never state any animal is fully House-trained. New environments, situations, families, routines, ect. can lead to accidents even with the most well trained animals.  All dogs have a $175 adoption fee which includes vet check, age appropriate shots (atleast 2 sets for puppies), dewormer, heartworm test (if over 6 months), rabies (if atleast 16 weeks) and spay/neuter! Puppies will be altered before adoption. All rescues and shelters practice pediatric spay and neuter. This is essential in our rescue efforts and it is a policy that we will stick by. All dogs over 8 weeks and 2 pounds will be altered before adoption. There are no exceptions to this rule on all healthy and adoptable dogs. We have researched and discussed in depth with multiple vets everything on pediatric spay and neuter and from a rescue stand point it must be done. Please do not ask for an extension on spay and neutering, it will NOT be granted on a healthy puppy!  Puppies/Dogs that are not available for adoption due to vetting not being complete can be reserved with an approved application and a non refundable $50 deposit. Deposits can ONLY be submitted once the rescue has been in contact on your approval and it has been requested through Wags and Whiskers. This deposit is applied to your adoption fee and the remaining $125 is due at pick up. Wags and Whiskers is an all-volunteer rescue. Please allow us time to respond to all inquires and applications!
