Story
Empanada is known affectionately by her foster parents as "Chi-Chi". She is a sweet little 11lb chihuahua who loves her humans.
She loves to lay in bed with her humans but also loves to play with her toys. She is very much a protector of her human, and will try to protect you. If she perceives a cat or another dog as a threat, she may lunge. For this reason, we recommend a home with no cats. A home with another small dog is possible,but the other dog would need to be submissive. She is working on perfecting her potty training and crate training. Emmy is heartworm positive and will be going through treatments in Lansing, MI and will be heartworm free in a few months. Emmy didn't have the easiest start to her life, but she is enjoying rescued life so much. She is the sweetest dog and would be a wonderful addition to your home!
She does better with women than men, so being adopted to a female is recommended. A home with a patient man who understands it will take time to trust would be considered.
