Meet Winston!
Winston is a 1 ½-year-old Chihuahua mix with a heart as big as his adorable 7-pound frame. This sweet little man has been through a lot but is ready to start a new chapter filled with love and happiness.
When Winston was found, he had an old leg injury that had healed in an uncomfortable position, causing him ongoing pain. To give him the quality of life he deserves, we opted to amputate the leg, and he’s already adjusting beautifully!
We’re still getting to know Winston, but his gentle and loving nature shines through. We’re confident he’ll thrive in a new home where he can receive all the care and affection he deserves.

The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them the All American MUTT. Our dogs are rescued from various situations (kill-shelters, owner surrenders, strays, etc). It is most likely that both their parents were strays and mixes of some sort.
If you are interested in this dog, you MUST submit an application. Sandy Paws Rescue does not a have a public shelter in Mass, so there is no building you can visit without an appointment. Our dogs live in private foster homes or boarding kennels down south until adopted, and foster care homes through out MV, Cape Cod and other parts of MA. A majority of our dogs are adopted/spoken for prior to transport and release from state mandated isolation.
