Story
Gigi has been in her foster home for 8 months getting ready for adoption. She was feral when she was rescued by SAAP and she was terrified of people. She now wants to sleep as close to her foster mom as she can get and lets her pick her up and carry her around and even trim her nails! She will need time and patience in her forever home to feel safe. Gigi gets along great with other dogs and loves to sniff around outside and chase squirrels and birds. Gigi would do best in a calm home with a fenced yard and no children. Apply to meet this sweet girl at adoptastray.comNovember 4, 2024, 10:45 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
She does love the yard. But walks on leash. Potties as soon as she hits the grass. Uses potty pads too. Sits up like a squirrel for attention. Flattens out and rolls over for belly rubs when you pick her up. Crate trained but does not need to be crated. Loves a snuggly dog bed. And would sleep with you under covers. Burrows like a mole. Loves her people when she gets to know you. Is fussy when dogs get in her face and when she is in your lap. Corrects easily. Leash up before opening door. She can be be speedy.November 4, 2024, 10:45 pm

Meet Cap n Crunch. He’s a 16 year old chihuahua who gets around well for his age. He is blind due to cataracts and I use belly bands for him because he doesn’t always make it outside, again, he’s pretty old. He loves to nap and will absolutely bark to let you know when he needs something. November 4, 2024, 10:45 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Meet Khloe! UPDATE:  Dec 17, 2024 Khloe would love to find her forever home for the holidays!  This amazing, sweet girl has really turned a corner, she is trusting her foster parents more, she will come to them, sit by them and even let them give her chin scratches.     She loves playing with toys and her foster siblings.     Khloe is looking for a patient person who will give her time to trust them but will be the best little buddy ever!  Original post:This little cutie hasn’t had the best start in life but she’s ready to find her person and/or forever family.   Khloe came from a bad hoarding situation,  this sweet girl had never been outside until she came into foster care. She is ~ 22 months old, 11.4 lbs, UTD on vaccines and spayed. Khloe needs a very patient person.  She is still very scared and takes a while to warm up to you.  She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and LOVES playing with toys and her foster siblings.  Khloe is still terrified to go outside but she is pee pad and kennel trained.  She will need a kennel of some sort, this is her safe space where she feels comfortable.  Khloe will not immediately warm up to you and will take time to get comfortable and trust you.  She has slowly started letting her foster parents touch her and take treats from their hands. She gets very excited and acts like she wants to be petted but just not quite sure yet.   This little one will need a lot of patience, love, and understanding.  She has been through a lot but is healing and getting more trustful everyday.  She is a sweet pup who deserves to find a loving home. Are you that special person Khloe needs to live her best life?  Adoption fee $275Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 17, 2024, 8:49 am

Meet Milton WE ARE A TX BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application found at haydudeequine.org Milton - You are the bridge between what was and what will be, my pathway to a new life! Hey all you fabulous folks out there, I'm here in search of a home, a family...one I can say is ALL mine!! I am so ready for Christmas, is Santa coming to grant my wish? Since you're reading this, maybe you could tell him I'd love that family to be with YOU!! I am around 8 years old and came from a hoarding situation of 96 dogs all in a small house, yes 96 dogs, where our living situation wasn't very good. I am so appreciative of all the little things that most dogs take for granted. A kind word, a gentle pet, a soft bed, some tasty treats!! I am so very loving, coming for some pets every chance I get and my favorites are ear scratches and belly rubs. I would probably do best in a quieter home where my person(s) work from home or are retired.! I do great with people once I get to know them but would probably do best in a home with just older kiddos. I do wonderfully with the other dogs in my foster home from big to smaller and also the resident kitty. I am crate trained but will need some continued work on housetraining. My chill easy going personality will make a great companion pup for your family. I'd even be great for a first time pet parent!! I get so excited to see you when you get home even if it was just to get the mail!! I don't really play too much with toys but I do love snuggling on a soft blanket! I will also be your lil shadow, following wherever you go...that lil heartbeat at your feet! If you would like a BFF to help you with your errand runs, a constant in your life to share in your joys and sorrows...oh my, I AM your boy!!!! I come in at about 15lbs of pure love ready to unleash it ALL on you. If you think we could be a perfect match please stop scrolling and fill out my adoption application. You can find it at haydudeequine.org

M **PLEASE READ ENTIRE BIO! Any additional questions, not answered in the bio may be asked via email at: pawprintsnky@gmail.com. This is to ensure a prompt response, as inquiries anywhere else may be missed. ****   Bamm-Bamm Available:  Yes Gender: Male Age: Approx. 9 years Weight: 7 lbs Breed: Chihuahua mix Neutered: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Microchipped: Yes Adoption Fee: $250.00 (plus tax) Foster Location: N Ky.   Applicants must live within 100 miles of Florence, KY, no exceptions.   Home Recommendation: Single Family. Fenced yard.  He talks back like a teenager oozing attitude and tends to like to be vocal (he *is* a Chihuahua), so a home that has walls that are shared with a neighbor won't work.  He will scream and act like you're killing him if you try to leash him, so a fenced in yard is a must. Oh, and he doesn't like to be picked up either.   He loves to be near his people and be as close as he can.      Cats: Well, he lives with cats and hasn't injured any, but he can sometimes be a jerk to them.  He'll randomly "guard" water dishes and other items, and he'll chase the cats away, but no teeth are involved.   Kids: Due to his size, he's not recommended for a home with younger children or where children visit often.   Crate Trained: He is crate trained but his foster family usually just leaves him loose.   Potty Trained: He really needs to have puppy pads out for him to use because he won't try to hold it until the next trip outside.   Dogs: He's a bit bossy but is okay with small dogs.  He screams like he's been injured when he sees a large dog, so those are a no for him.   Leash Manners: Nope, not happening.  Unless you want to lose the tips of your fingers and listen to a dog screaming, it's a no. Bamm-Bamm thinks he's a Coon Hound whose job is to "tree" squirrels and is happy to do so for hours when the weather is nice.  He's a busy little guy who is always on the move and not one to spend time sitting on anyone's lap.     Adoption Process: Step 1:    Complete a "no obligation" application located on our website at pawprintsnky.com under the applications tab. Step 2:    PawPrints will review the application, verifying Vet and personal references as well as landlord requirements/restrictions (if applicable) Step 3:    IF your application is approved, we will call you to schedule a meet and greet for you to meet the pet. &#226&#128&#139Step 4:   If the meet and greet goes well, we will schedule the home visit. **Please read the profile in its entirety. The adoption process and their basic needs are addressed in the profile. We are an all volunteer organization and are busy caring for our foster animals so we cannot respond to emails that ask questions already addressed ** Adoption Process: Step 1:    Complete a "no obligation" application located on our website at pawprintsnky.com under Adopt.  . We’ve tried the more subtle approach and it’s not working, so blunt and brutal it is.   Paco needs a unicorn adopter.  He has some fear based issues so he’s horrible with new people.  His adopter will need to let Paco adjust at his own pace and ignore him for days, maybe longer, when he arrives in your home.  If you ignore our advice, he won’t hesitate to remind you that you’re moving too quickly and need to slow down, so no worries about wondering if you’re going at his speed or not.    He loves to sit on your lap and wants to be close to you all the time.  If you need a lap warmer, he’s your man.  That doesn’t in any way mean he likes to be picked up (again, he’ll remind you of his disdain if you try).   We don’t even try to bathe him because we would like to keep all of our fingers.     Don’t adopt him with the idea that he’ll someday be warm and fuzzy with visitors, it’s a nice thought but he’s probably never going to be that dog.     The good...once he trusts you he loves you and he needs your life to revolve around him.  He forms a strong attachment to one person and wants to be the love of your life   He becomes so attached that he is recommended for a single person home   More good...he likes big dogs.  He tolerates small dogs (although he can be a bit bossy) but appreciates the friendship of a bigger dog (especially if they let him run underneath them when he’s frightened).  He’s okay with dog-savvy cats but he’ll be bossy and chase (no biting) cats who won’t stand their ground. A dog experienced person who has as much of a dislike for other humans as Paco does would be a perfect match for him.  Because he doesn’t like people, walks aren’t his thing.  He does love running in a fenced in yard though, and he’ll alert you to every falling leaf, neighbors 5 houses down who has the audacity to be carrying their groceries inside and when the wind changes direction   You’ll never miss any of the neighborhood happenings with Paco around    Paco is a 6 year old Chihuahua/Dachshund who has spent entirely too much time in his foster home.   He adores his foster mom but it’s time for him to plant some permanent roots    He’s neutered, heartworm negative and up to date on vaccines. You can find an adoption application at www.pawprintsnky.com. Once the application is submitted, please expect someone to email you with questions and/or provide more information about the dog is we are unsure that the dog may be a good fit.   Most importantly, please be honest!  We have many people tell us what they think we want to read, not what's truthful.  If there are discrepancies, your application will be denied.  It's important for us to place dogs in a home that's suitable.  You may be a stellar owner but possibly not a good fit for the dog you were first interested in adopting.  We're not trying to offend anyone, we're trying to set everyone up for success.    We're a best fit rescue and will verify your vet and personal references. *Chihuahua/Dachshund *6 years old *11 lbs *Good with cats and dogs (including large dogs) *Not recommended for a home with children or one where children visit   * Best in a single person home but may adjust to a home with two people    * No homes that share walls with neighbors  * Needs a fenced in yard as he does not do well on walks *Adopters must live within 2 hours of Florence, KY *Adoption fee is $300.00    October 12, 2024, 12:11 pm
