These tough little survivors spent their days outside, waiting for food and water to arrive, sharing a small pen with 11 other dogs. 🌧️ For that reason, we named them after famous tough guys and gals!Despite his past, Baby Face Nelson is a sweet boy with a friendly demeanor around new people. He’s eager to connect and is very social with people but he may still need time to understand he’s safe and loved. 💖Baby Face Nelson will need help with leash training, housebreaking, and socializing with new people. 🦴 After living with so many dogs, he’s likely to get along well with most pups, but he might be a little fearful of larger dogs at first. Cats and kids? We recommend a week-long foster-to-adopt trial to ensure it’s a good fit. Since Lucky Luciano hasn’t lived with children before, we suggest homes with kids aged 5 and up, and it’s important for any kids in the home to meet him before adoption.Give Baby Face Nelson the loving home she deserves and watch him blossom! 🏡✨Baby Face Nelson is estimated to be around 6 months old. He is thought to be a mix of chihuahua and Terrier. Baby Face Nelson weighs 14 lbs and may get a bit bigger before he is full grown. Smitty is a sweet chihuahua mix boy looking for a home. He's a around 8 years old and tips the scales at around 9 pounds. Smitty is accustomed to life with seniors and would be a wonderful companion for a retiree. He bonds closely to his people. Smitty can be timid when meeting new people but warms up quickly with a proper introduction. He has a typical chihuahua personality. Smitty is housebroken and crate trained. If you'd like to meet Smitty, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Smitty at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. Goose is a 7 year old chihuahua and when I say he’s the perfect dog, he literally is! He’s approx 15 pounds. Left behind when his owners moved, he was found and taken to the shelter. Then he came to rescue. Goose and his foster fur brother Maverick, spend the day just playing and relaxing. He is such a happy boy. If you’re looking for a couch potato/ snuggler- Goose is your guy. If you like to hang outside or go on walks- Goose is your guy. Need a car companion to run errands with- he LOVES to lay in the passenger seat. Best of all, he loves kids and kids love him. Little humans and their snuggles really get his tail wagging. He also loves hugs and belly rubs! He is very food motivated but has no food aggression. He is house broken, crate trained and walks well on a leash. Goose is the total package. He would be so happy with a family or even a quiet household looking for a companion. He just wants to be anywhere that his humans are.
