Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Wanted: A patient and understanding home with NO children and NO other animals.  Don't let Lulu's cute little face and size fool you.  We are unsure what trauma this little lady has been through, but she doesn't have a whole lot of trust in humans and she's not much of a fan of other animals.  Lulu has been in her foster home for over a year and her foster has been working to earn her trust.  Lulu is pee pad trained and is terrified of going outside.  Lulu enjoys snuggling under the covers in her foster mom's lap in bed while they sleep or on the couch while they watch tv in the evenings.  Lulu isn't a fan of crates, but is content to stay in a small room like a bedroom or bathroom while you are gone away from the house.  She doesn't mind the occassional pet, but isn't a fan of lots of attention or being picked up.  Lulu does resource guard when it comes to her food and her place in someone's lap.  Lulu has been in a foster home with both cats and dogs and she's learned to tolerate the animals in her "pack," but has had issues with new foster animals coming into the home so we feel she will be the happiest in a home without other animals that she needs to compete with.  Lulu is looking for a home where the people will give her the time to decompress and learn to trust.  Applications with children under the age of 16 will not be considered.           Estimated DOB: 02/26/2023   Adoption fee: $250 (6% KY sales tax included)  We would love to hear from you! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Chocolate and her sister Squirt are a bonded pair of ladies who are looking for a home where they can spend the rest of their days together.  Chocolate is a little more standoffish when it comes to meeting new people and it takes her time to warm up to new people and situations.  She will follow who from room to room in the house watching what you are doing.  Squirt is the exact opposite and an absolute lap dog and loves to be held and be right with you at all times.  Even though she's half the size of Chocolate she's the dominate one in the relationship when it comes to food and will boss Chocolate around when it comes to food or sharing a bed on the floor.  When Chocolate feels like Squirt has spent too much time sitting in someone's lap she will bark at her to get her to come lay with her in the bed in the floor.  Squirt is about the perfect weight for her size, but Chocolate could stand to loose about 8 pounds which her foster home has been working on.  Both girls are good with other dogs and cats.  They were in a home where they had only used pee pads and with the cold winter weather and snow they are been too scared to go outside.  They have never walked on leash before so need a home with a secure fence or a home where they can be allowed to use pee pads in the home.  These little ladies are sure to be a good addition to almost any home.  They have not been around small children so we are unsure on how they will do with them.         Estimated DOB:   01/04/2017 Adoption fee: $ 350 (6% KY sales tax included) for the pair of Chocolate and Squirt We would love to hear from you! Story
This is Junior. He was adopted from the animal shelter in October 2024. He’s a sweet dog who loves cuddles and long walks and is incredibly protective of his person. However, he is not nice to other animals, has severe anxiety and has a bad problem of going potty in the house. My family recently went through a house fire and we don’t have the expenses to get him professionally trained. We have other senior animals in the home and we worry he will attack one of them if left alone. We’ve tried everything to break his bad bathroom habits but we’ve had no success. We only feel comfortable rehoming him to someone very experienced with dogs or trains them. He would be happiest with an owner who either works from home or is unemployed. He’s okay around the elementary aged child in the home but we’re not sure how he would react to toddlers and babies. He’s a little nervous at first around strange men, but with patience he warms up and is okay.

Story
Meet FRED (brown) and RICKY (black & white)! They are a bonded pair of male chihuahua's. They came to us from a hoarding situation where they stuck together to get through it. They are only deserving of a life together through the good times too! They are about 5 years old? and complement each other quite nicely! Ricky is the more outgoing of the two. Fred will hang back. While they march around outside with pride, inside they are both happy to be in their inmate's lap. So why are these mild-mannered little tater tots in the prison? We wanted to give them every possible chance of finding a great, loving forever home. When you grow up in a hoarding situation you miss out on even the basics - leash, crate and house training. You also miss out on fundamental social skills. Even though both of these boys know sit, stay, down and come, they also have good manners. Where once, they wouldn't even let you touch them, they have pushed through their fear and have learned that a little bit of curiosity can bring on a lot of attention! Some family will be very lucky to adopt them. They are ready to go and promise hours of endless entertainment and love. If interested in adopting Fred & Ricky, we are placing them together. Our process begins with submission of our online application which can be found at www.adoptmebluegrasspetrescue.com. Additional adoption FAQ's can be found there also. Meets will be set with approved applicants. We employ a fit/focus approach to our adoptions, and we feel they'll do best in a quiet home where their owner will continue to get them out and about to enjoy life! Thank you!
