UPDATE May 2, 2025:Romona is now potty trained and is loving going outside and playing with her foster siblings!!  (When Ramona first came into rescue she was terrified of being outside and would only use potty pads indoors, so this is a huge step forward for Roamona!)This little one is really making progress.  She now enjoys individual attention.  Ramona has made a remarkable journey and will make a special person a wonderful pet.  You can read the earlier posts about her and see how far she has come.UPDATE Dec 17, 2024:   Ramona is really starting to open up and trust.  She is starting to let her foster parents pet her and even rub her belly!    She constantly follows her foster mom around and stays right by her side.  Initial post:This little cutie hasn’t had the best start in life but she’s ready to find her person and/or forever family.   Ramona came from a bad hoarding situation,  this sweet girl had never been outside until she came into foster care. She is ~ 22 months old, 12.6lbs, UTD on vaccines and spayed. Ramona needs a very patient person.  She is still very scared and takes a while to warm up to you.  She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and LOVES playing with toys and her foster siblings.  Ramona is still terrified to go outside but she is pee pad and kennel trained.  She will need a kennel of some sort, this is her safe space where she feels comfortable.  Ramona will not immediately warm up to you and will take time to get comfortable and trust you.  She has slowly started letting her foster parents touch her and take treats from their hands. She gets very excited and acts like she wants to be petted but just not quite sure yet.   Ramona will need a lot of patience, love, and understanding.  She has been through a lot but is healing and getting more trustful everyday.  She is a sweet pup who deserves to find a loving home. Are you that special person Ramona needs to live her best life?  Adoption fee $200Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 25, 2025, 5:44 pm

Story
These little gals have been hanging out with us for a bit, and have gained so much confidence. They will still need some patience to help them continue growth after losing their home due to the human’s illness. Meet Bobbie (grey muzzle and white chest) and CC (tan eyebrows) BONDED 7 year olds less than 10lb female chihuahua mixes. THEY MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER. Both are potty pad trained but will use outside when weather is nice. Neither seem interested in using steps or Leashes so a ranch home with secure fenced yard is necessary. Bobbie is a stage 5 clinger and wants to be on you and in your face all the time. CC is a loner mostly but does have bouts of zoomies and needs a playmate (Bobbie doesn’t seem to meet her needs) CC does have some vision issues (she can see shapes and shadows) and uses her nose most of the time to figure out her environment. Bobbie is very outgoing and the braver of the two. She loves toys and antler and is very protective of them with others (CC ignores them) Both eat very well on wet food and dry food even snacking supplement. Bobbie will howl when displeased once and awhile and CC will join in with her barks (so definitely not apartment doggos) Neither really like our cat but they aren’t mean to her. These girls are awesome little companions looking to live out their next stage of life with lots of Love and snuggles! Apply today April 16, 2025, 10:26 am

Story
Loki is very shy to the extent of being partially feral. After a long period of settling in, he may sit near you or sniff you, but does not want hands reaching towards him. He is coexisting with other dogs, but will grumble at them if they get too close. In foster care, he spends most of his time in his own space with a baby gate to keep others at bay. He will potty outside and enjoys chasing squirrels - a securely fenced yard is a must since he won't let anyone handle him. Loki will need an extremely patient adopter who will let him have time and space. September 29, 2025, 9:04 pm

Story
FOSTER TO ADOPT ORCHID    3 yrs - 10 lb - Chihuahua/terrier mix   Orchid is looking for a very special person to be her one and only. She seems to have had a very stressful past as she is extremely timid and sometimes defensive. She is a super sweet girl who wants to please her person more than anything. She is very food motivated and loves a good couch cuddle, especially if she can be under the covers!    Orchid needs a SINGLE PERSON HOME with low traffic. Once Orchid picks her #1 person,  other humans in the home make her nervous and she gets overly protective. She is currently in a single human foster home with 3 small dogs. She is either crated or given her own room when other people are in the house. She does well meeting new people on a leash outside in front of the house and out in public. At adoption events or walks around town she let's everyone say hello and pet her. It's really only inside her home where she gets defensive.   Orchid gets along with the other small dogs in her foster home. She definitely takes cues from the more confident dogs. Like the other resident Chihuahuas, she takes pride in her neighborhood watch program...from the safety of the back gate. Every day she saves her yard from kids riding bikes in the alley and neighbors who dare to mow the lawn.    If you are interested in giving Orchid a shot at forever, fill out a foster application and mention fostering Orchid. November 2, 2025, 11:34 am
