Story
Leo is a charming little Chihuahua with a big heart and an even bigger personality. After being lovingly surrendered due to his previous owner's life changes, Leo is now looking for a fresh start—and he’s ready to shower his new family with loyalty, cuddles, and joy. This petite pup is the full package: he’s potty trained, kennel trained, and walks nicely on a leash. Leo is friendly with other dogs and non-reactive to cats, making him a great fit for a variety of home environments. He’s quiet overnight in his crate and is currently brushing up on commands like “sit” and “come”—he’s eager to please and a quick learner! Leo loves nothing more than curling up in your lap for belly rubs and soaking in your affection. He also enjoys outdoor adventures, especially when there are squirrels to chase and scents to explore. While he does have a heart murmur that requires daily medication, it doesn’t slow him down one bit—this little guy still has plenty of pep in his step and so much love to give. If you’re looking for a gentle, devoted companion to brighten your days, Leo just might be the perfect match. ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. An approved application is required before we can schedule a meet & greet. Once approved, we’ll work with you to ensure it’s a great fit—and if it’s not, no worries! We’ll help you find the right match. Hello! Iandamp;#39;m Valentine! andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Prior to coming to Great Plains SPCA&#44 I was living in a trailer with dozens of other dogs. I had virtually no interaction with humans&#44 I had to scrounge for my meals&#44 I didnandamp;#39;t know anything about the outside world and my only friends were dogs. Iandamp;#39;m grateful to be out of my old situation&#44 but this new world is still pretty scary to me. Iandamp;#39;m looking for a patient family in a calm&#44 quiet home that is willing to take the time I need to get comfortable. Does this sound like a good fit? I would love to be your dog.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Tail wags&#44 andlt;br/andgt;Valentine

Story
Meet Chief & Blondie – A Bond Forged Through Love and Healing Chief and Blondie are an incredibly special pair of 2-year-old Chihuahua brothers, each weighing around 11 pounds. Their journey hasn’t been easy, but thanks to compassionate care and time in a nurturing foster home, they’re now ready to find a forever family—together. These boys came from a heartbreaking hoarding situation where multiple dogs were found in dire conditions, including some who had tragically passed. While Chief was in surprisingly good physical health, he was extremely under-socialized. He arrived in our care first, frightened and unsure of the world around him. But with time, patience, and love from his dedicated foster, Chief began to bloom. His foster shares, “Every positive new experience seems to build their confidence and trust in the world.” Blondie came to us shortly after Chief, once he was healthy enough to travel following surgery on his leg. Usually, we do not adopt out littermates together, as it can lead to an unhealthy dynamic where they rely too much on each other and struggle to bond with humans. However, Chief and Blondie are the rare exception. Chief’s growing confidence has become a steadying influence on Blondie, and Blondie in turn brings out a gentle sweetness in Chief. Rather than reinforcing fear, their bond is one of encouragement and balance. For their emotional wellbeing and continued progress, we are seeking a home that can welcome both boys together. Both Chief and Blondie are house-trained, friendly with other dogs, and learning every day how to trust and enjoy life. Once comfortable, they are loving, affectionate, and playful—true testaments to the resilience and loyalty of Chihuahuas. All Heart of America dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Adoption fee for the pair: $400 Are you the patient, loving home these brothers have been waiting for? Dog Adoption Application: https://new.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/HAUS/Dog

Story
Ringo is a fantastic, loving, cuddle bug who would love to love on any companion. He likely has Addison’s disease, and is in need of liver supplementation and diet restrictions, which can become costly. He is currently asymptomatic. In the future, he may need treatment for his liver problems that I cannot afford.
