HOW TO ADOPT: This pet is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this pet, please email fosterinquiry@arl-iowa.org.---Max and JJ are Bonded Buddies and will be adopted as a pair. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Tan Weight: 11.5 Age: 1yrs 1mths 2wks

Story
Meet Barney – Your Loyal Little Shadow!Barney is a 2-year-old, 11-pound Chihuahua mix with a heart full of love and a serious talent for cuddling. Once he gets to know you, this sweet boy turns into a total snuggle bug who wants nothing more than to be by your side.Barney is potty trained, uses the doggy door like a pro, and walks beautifully on a leash. He’s also a great little travel buddy and does wonderfully in the car. While he’s not a fan of the crate, he’s happiest when he’s close to his person—curled up on the couch or tucked in next to you at night. As a classic Velcro dog, Barney does experience some separation anxiety, so he’d do best in a home where someone is around more often than not. He’s wonderful with other dogs, but because he can be a little sensitive to unexpected touches, he’d prefer a calmer home without small children.Barney is the perfect companion for someone looking for a loyal, loving friend who enjoys walks, cuddles, and simply being near his favorite human. If you’re looking for a little buddy to share your days and your heart, Barney just might be your guy.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Story
Billy is a tiny 5.5-pound Chihuahua with a gentle soul and a heart full of potential. At just 1 year old, he’s still a bit shy and nervous in the rescue environment, but we know he’ll blossom in a patient, loving forever home.Billy would thrive in a quieter household without small children, where he can feel safe and take his time building trust. He enjoys being held and snuggled once he knows you, and he’d love to have a confident dog companion to help guide him and bring him out of his shell. With a little time and a lot of love, Billy is sure to become a devoted and cuddly best friend.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. Story
Location: RescueMeet Leonor, Zoella, and Wixen – Three Tiny Sisters with Giant Hearts! These sweet Chiweenie sisters were found roaming stray and ended up at a shelter before we brought them into our rescue. At 4.5 years old and weighing under 10 pounds, they’ve clearly been through a lot—each of them has had several litters—but their spirits remain loving and gentle. These girls are incredibly affectionate and happiest when snuggled up in your lap. Whether you’re relaxing on the couch or working from home, they’ll be right by your side, soaking up all the love they’ve missed out on.While they don’t seem to have had any prior house training, they’re smart and eager to please. With a little patience and consistency, they should catch on quickly. Here’s how to tell them apart:• Leonor (pink collar) is the tiniest at just 7 pounds.• Zoella (yellow collar) is 8 pounds and has a calm, sweet demeanor.• Wixen (purple collar) is the biggest at 8.5 pounds and full of gentle charm. These girls are ready for the next chapter of their lives—one filled with kindness, cuddles, and forever love. Upon meeting them, your heart will melt and you’ll definitely want to bring one home!IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats.
