Story
Jebbey is a 12-year old chihuahua mix who loves to cuddle. He is in good health for his age with the exception of a heart murmur. He has had a dental and is up to date on his vaccinations. He likes to wear doggie clothes to keep him warm and is all about snuggling with you or on a heating pad for warmth. He does well with going potty outside or inside on potty pads. He is currently enjoying the luxury of a doggie door which allows him outside access as he needs it. Jebbey does well with kids and adults, cats, and the female small dogs in his foster home. He would like a home without large dogs. A dog intro is required if you have an existing dog which can be done at the time of the home visit. If you are looking for an older cuddly companion and are ok with yearly vet visits as well as the additional cost that comes with senior dogs, Jebbey may be the right fit for your loving home. His adoption fee is $50 since he is a senior boy. If you are interested in meeting Jebbey, please complete the dog application at https://safehomerescue.org/how-to-adopt/dog-adoption-form/

HOW TO ADOPT: This animal is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this animal, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---Boog and Elliot are Bonded Buddies; they'll be adopted as a pair - Prefers to explore and do his own thing here in the shelter, but will likely open up more once he's in a home environment and has had time to decompress - Draws confidence from his dog friend- Young, noisy or busy children can be too much for him (mature home recommended) This pet is considered to be in their senior years and may enjoy calmer activities and environments. They may also have medical or behavior needs related to their age. Click here for tips for making a comfortable life for senior pets. All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age)The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: White Weight: 6.2 Age: 14yrs 1mths 0wks

Story
Meet the Minis. Smidge, Dash, Pinch, Tad and Bit. They are five little ones with a common goal - finding a lap, a blanket and a human to adore. Smidge is the older lady at 5 years old, Dash is about 3 years old and the littles, Pinch, Tad and Bit are only 10 weeks old. We are shy at first, but just wait and we will open up our hearts to the right family. Are you a chi person? One of us might be just right for you! If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2727402##
