Story
Charlie is a 7 year old Chihuahua mix who is the perfect mix of good manners, warm snuggles and medium energy for a laid back home. He is playful, but is not hyper, so he would make a great dog for any type of family, with kids or without. He walks very well on a leash and loves his time with humans. He loves getting his ears rubbed and his neck scratched. He does well passing by the other dogs at the shelter and does not show any aggression. He is a little timid at first, but warms up very quickly. Because he is small he would make a great addition to your favorite chair in the living room! He would definitley love to share a chair with you. Come and meet Charlie! ##2190449##

Story
Meet the rough & tough Cable! This tiny spitfire is a 4 month, 6lb (possibly) heeler/small mix breed. Might be a terrier, might be a chihuahua, as he came from a hoarding situation with other chihuahua mix puppies. He's like a new pokemon yet to evolve, who knows how big he'll really grow (probably not much bigger than the average house cat). For a such a little man of steel, he's got a big bark and let's you know when it's time to play! He's the best assist around the yard when it comes to pulling up weeds and digging new holes for plants😆 Small facts for a small dog: •Berry sniffing bloodhound🍓🫐 •He is speed💨 •Big fan of tunnels! •Will assist in the garden (hole digger)🌱 •The reason you can't find your left sock🧦 •Loves to snuggle under the blanket! •Believes he's a big dog & plays like one🤼‍♂️ Cable is available for adoption or foster! Please keep in mind that he is just a puppy who is currently going through training. He knows when he is in the wrong and will give you the saddest puppy eyes and how could you stay mad at that??

Story
LEONARDIn Foster HomeDo you have room in your heart for a special-needs dog? We can tell from the way he bobs his head when stressed and circles and spins when he is excited that he has something unique going on in his little head. If we had to guess his breed, we think a terrier mix with maybe some Boston terrier, chihuahua or French bulldog in there. Leonard loves the company of other dogs and would make a great playmate for a dog who enjoys a good game of chase or wrestling. He really needs another dog around in order to be happy. Leonard has come a long way toward being potty trained, given ample opportunities to go outdoors. He also is using potty pads indoors. He has a beautiful shiny blue coat which makes him stand out from the pack. He likes to hang out with the people without having to sit on a lap or be cuddled too much. He seems to be mesmerized by things daily and is always cocking his head in the cutest way. His foster mom works from home and he LOVES that. If you have dreams of him being an obedience champion, you’ll have to let those go. He really is a very simple fella who just wants a good home with a playful dog or two and some people who will be around a lot and let him be who he is. DOB 3/15/22 18 PoundsI'm waiting for a home to call my own. email webmaster@petrefuge.com to learn more about me or fill out an application at https://www.petrefuge.com/adoptPet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes. Story
Poppy, 10+ yrs. old, 10lbs, Male, Chihuahua mix, established potty habits, crate trained Poppy came into foster care a timid and underweight little guy. Throughout his stay he has gained both weight and confidence. Although he is still unsure sometimes he regularly seeks out affection and continues to grow each day. Poppy does suffer from seizures, but his condition has improved greatly with medication and are now a very rare occassion. Our best guess is they are at least partially stress induced. Poppy does well enough with other dogs, but due to his age doesn't engage with them, cats are unknown and due to his size small children should be avoided. Poppy lives for food, tv watching and a good fluffy bed. He's a low maintenance lilttle guy who would do well in most homes.   If you are viewing this pet's profile on Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet,.please use the application link at the bottom of the profile to apply. Story
Hi there! I'm Queenie, a very shy sweet little 9-pound Chiweenie , I’m 6 years old. My life didn’t start off so great—I came from a scary hoarding situation in Texas where I didn’t get much love or attention. I used to be really afraid of being touched or even walking on a leash. But guess what? I’ve come a long way! Now, I like being petted by my person after I get to know you, though I’m still very shy, so I need someone who will be patient with me while I continue to learn that the world isn’t so scary, and I will need a woman as my care person, I'm okay with a man but it takes a long time for me to trust him.I love hanging out with other dogs, big or small, and playing with my friends is one of my favorite things! I haven’t met any cats yet, so I’m not sure what I think about them. After a good play session, you can find me chilling on the couch for a nice nap. I’m also housebroken, crate trained, spayed, micro chipped and up to date on my vaccines—pretty much the full package!Because I’m still working on building my confidence, I’d feel safest in a home with a fully FENCED-IN YARD, another dog, and either older children or none at all. It might take me a little while to get to know you, but once I do, I’ll be your loyal little buddy. My adoption fee is $300 and I’m being fostered near Coldwater, Michigan. I’m really hoping to find a family who can give me the love and patience I deserve. Questions about me? Please email projecthoperescue@gmail.com. Ready to bring me home? Fill out the adoption application by visiting our website at www.projecthoperescue.org. Will you be the one to help me feel at home?December 11, 2024, 5:17 pm
