Story
Tyson is a 10 year old chihuahua miniature pincher who loves to snuggle in his blankets to sleep. He is good with older kids but doesn't do well with babies and smaller children. He has some anxiety and get scared easily. He needs an experienced owner and someone who is calm and patient. He doesn't like to be on a leash and will yelp sometimes. He loves to be outside and will spend time just lying outside in the sun. He loves to sleep and he does snore. He also loves to be with people and will sit at your feet. He also loves attention and treats and will sit and shake for treats if you ask him to. We need to find an experienced person who is patient and kind since we can no longer keep him due to some changes in our circumstances.

Story
From her foster: Do you like being stared at? Do you wish you had a little dog that is pretty sure you make the sunrise? Meet Satsuma, she tries so hard to make her human happy. She truly thrives on human attention and touch. She enjoys curling up in a blanket. She will spend 20 minutes making sure she is close to you as she can be. #velcrodog She seems to enjoy coexistence with my dogs and cat as long as they do not lay on her. She is all the good things a chi can be. She has a wonderful appetite, she also sleeps quietly through the night, and she doesn’t seem to be a big barker either. She needs reassurance, but has been so pleasant. If you give her the opportunity she is house trained and she does fine in a cage in the car and while I am gone. Though it does mean she cannot touch me, which hurts a little. She is a very impressive little dog.

Story
Born March 11, 2023. Groundhog (now Theo/Teddy) was adopted from us as a 9-week old puppy. His mom and dad are both chihuahua mixes. He is nearly 50% chihuahua and 20% pug while the rest of him is a Heinz 57 mix. He has outgrown both of his parents and was actually returned to us for being "too big." At his recent vet visit, he weighed 30 lbs. He's a solid chunk with very much of a pug thick body and the adorable curly Q tail. Teddy loves blankets and curling up in them. He is not a fan of veterinary visits and will need an adopter willing to work with him on that.   He is housetrained and knows basic commands.. Apply online at www.4pups.org by clicking the Adopt button under his photo.. Adoption fee is $175. He is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccines. ##1697944##

Story
Theo is a Chihuahua-mix, estimated at 7 years old. He had a really rough life before coming to Misty Eyes, but is a very loving and snuggly guy. He weighs in at 8 lbs. Theo was pretty bare on intake from fleas, but his fur is growing in really well. He came to Misty Eyes with 3 teeth, but they were infected, so those were pulled. He is now toothless, so is on a canned food diet. He does make a nasal sound sometimes, but that is due to his teeth eating away at his nasal cavity. Despite all of that, and being deaf, he is a happy little guy who loves to snuggle on the couch and burrow with his human at night. He has a new-found love, chasing and playing with balls and can play for hours! Theo is ready to live his best life now! He is the perfect lap dog! He lives with other small dogs in his foster home and does well, but is not a good fit with cats. If you`d like to meet Theo, please submit an adoption application online at https://www.mistyeyes.org/adoptionapplication.

Story
Taffeta & Chiffon go together like apple pie & ice cream! These two are sisters from different litters; they came from a hoarder who had over 60 dogs in the home. Taffeta has the lighter colored face and is 1 1/2 years old; Chiffon has the darker face and is about 1 year old. The girls are a mix of about 5 breeds ... chihuahua/jack russell is what we will list but those round ears are definitely corgi like! And there may be a smidge of dachshund in them as well. Taffeta & Chiffon are just a hoot!!! They are constantly wrestling & rolling around & tearing around the house in games of chase. When they tire of these antics, they are the absolute best snuggle bugs ever! They wrap themselves up around your neck and cuddle in as close to you as they can get. They give the softest, gentlest kisses as well! The girls are still lacking in socialization with people and will bark at strangers; they will need patience and calm training in order to learn that newcomers are not a threat. For this reason, they would not do well in homes with children 16 and under. Taffeta & Chiffon will also need a very secure fenced in yard in which they expend some of their energy. With their fear issues, walking daily on leashes would be too much for them at this point. Chiffon has a "cherry eye" which is scheduled to be removed at the same time as her spay on October 20th. We are only placing the pair with local adopters so that we can assist with integration and socialization for the girls. The adoption fee for the pair is $400; they will be spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and current on heartworm/flea preventative. (Indianapolis area)
