Story
Hi, I’m Manny! I’m about 4 years old, I’m house and crate trained, I know how to sit, and I’ll be your best friend. However, I have some criteria that I need from you. I take a minute to warm up to new people, and I don’t particularly appreciate too much love. I will ask for pets when I want them, but don’t get carried away. My favorite thing? Foot pets!!! Let me rub my body on your feet and I’m in heaven! Another thing I love is food. Big food guy! Dogs? I’m good with dogs! I have two foster siblings and I’m super respectful about their space. My foster family says I’m the most perfect dog and all I truly need is someone who will respect my space. I get so excited when my people get home from work. I may bark at new guests, but if they just ignore me, I’ll ignore them. I walk pretty well on a leash, though I like to lead the way! No kids for me please! They move too fast and scare me. If you’re interested in seeing if we are a match, fill out the adoption application!

If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please visit our website, for details about our fees and process, and to complete our Adoption Application.   ARPO limits adoptions to within 50 miles of Indianapolis.  We do not have a shelter; all pets are in volunteer foster homes.  Hello, my name is Potato. I was named that because I was a little more potato shaped when I was found by my rescuer. My foster mom wanted to be selfish and keep me all to herself, but she knows lots more doggies need her help.  I do really well with all of the resident dogs and most of the cats, I will chase the cats who are scared of me but leave the ones alone who are not. I love to snuggle. I get along with everyone but since I am coming into my senior years I deserve to not have to put up with any little kids playing too rough with me since I'm a little guy at under 9 lbs. I had a dental recently and will likely need more in the future because my breed is known to have poor tooth enamel. Please only apply if you are willing to spoil me rotten and give me lots of pets and snuggles.. I’m 9ish and being fostered on the southside of Indianapolis. If you are interested in adopting an ARPO pet, please complete the online Adoption Application.  If you would like to donate to this pet's care, please click here. Story
Taffeta & Chiffon go together like apple pie & ice cream! These two are sisters from different litters; they came from a hoarder who had over 60 dogs in the home. Taffeta has the lighter colored face and is 1 1/2 years old; Chiffon has the darker face and is about 1 year old. The girls are a mix of about 5 breeds ... chihuahua/jack russell is what we will list but those round ears are definitely corgi like! And there may be a smidge of dachshund in them as well. Taffeta & Chiffon are just a hoot!!! They are constantly wrestling & rolling around & tearing around the house in games of chase. When they tire of these antics, they are the absolute best snuggle bugs ever! They wrap themselves up around your neck and cuddle in as close to you as they can get. They give the softest, gentlest kisses as well! The girls are still lacking in socialization with people and will bark at strangers; they will need patience and calm training in order to learn that newcomers are not a threat. For this reason, they would not do well in homes with children 16 and under. Taffeta & Chiffon will also need a very secure fenced in yard in which they expend some of their energy. With their fear issues, walking daily on leashes would be too much for them at this point. Chiffon has a "cherry eye" which is scheduled to be removed at the same time as her spay on October 20th. We are only placing the pair with local adopters so that we can assist with integration and socialization for the girls. The adoption fee for the pair is $400; they will be spayed, microchipped, vaccinated and current on heartworm/flea preventative. (Indianapolis area)

Story
Bandit is a very loving, sweet dog. He is playful, especially likes to play fetch. All vet needs are up to date. He loves to curl up on your lap for a nap. His previous owner could no longer care for him. Bandit is housebroken and does great as long as you offer lots of breaks and notice his cues of needing to go outdoors. It takes him a while to warm up to new people. Bandit has some very chihuahua behaviors, he loves "his" person and will keep others away by doing a dance around the feet of the stranger and he "might" take a nip at the ankle. It's not representative of Bandit's overall super sweet and enjoyable personality. He likes to get up by your face and lay his head on you and then takes his paw and pats you on the face. Its darling, and almost cat-like. If you’re looking for a great companion, Bandit would be great for you. Bandit just had his teeth cleaned at the vet and he is current on flea and heartworm meds as well as routine vaccines. He's not a big eater, he does like treats, and he is crate trained. He is fine with other friendly dogs. Bandit's adoption fee is $350 and he's ready for adoption now. Fostered by sphil

Story
Champ came to rescue with his mom Sassy, dad Jake and brothers Chico and Tango from a loving home after the passing of their owner. Champ was very content with his brother Tango, and it was the intention to have the boys be adopted together. Unfortunately, Tango fell ill, and he was not able to recover. Champ has bounced back from the loss, but it would be great to find him a stable loving forever home. Champ is on the shy side but tends to warm up quickly. His personality and temperament are his best features! HE doesn't show up great at meet and greets as he isn't immediately a warm and fuzzy pet. But with time and patience he is loving. He is low maintenance, has a medium energy level, travels well, no behavioral issues or concerns, and is very obedient. Champ is a mellow companion who will be great company. Champ is neutered, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, has seen vet and is healthy. Champs adoption fee is $300 ***He qualifies for the Seniors for Seniors program. *** ***ask about Seniors for Seniors***
