LEONARDIn Foster HomeDo you have room in your heart for a special-needs dog? We can tell from the way he bobs his head when stressed and circles and spins when he is excited that he has something unique going on in his little head. If we had to guess his breed, we think a terrier mix with maybe some Boston terrier, chihuahua or French bulldog in there. Leonard loves the company of other dogs and would make a great playmate for a dog who enjoys a good game of chase or wrestling. He really needs another dog around in order to be happy. Leonard has come a long way toward being potty trained, given ample opportunities to go outdoors. He also is using potty pads indoors. He has a beautiful shiny blue coat which makes him stand out from the pack. He likes to hang out with the people without having to sit on a lap or be cuddled too much. He seems to be mesmerized by things daily and is always cocking his head in the cutest way. His foster mom works from home and he LOVES that. If you have dreams of him being an obedience champion, you’ll have to let those go. He really is a very simple fella who just wants a good home with a playful dog or two and some people who will be around a lot and let him be who he is. Peanut is quite the character! He will do a happy dance for treats, and spin with excitement when you come home. Peanut has the typical traits of being a Chihuahua and forgets his true size wanting to protect his surroundings. He has lived with other small dogs in his foster home, but prefers dogs not to be too overwhelming. Chiweenie Amelia came to us from a kill shelter in Indiana. This is a nice, friendly girl who is good with people & other dogs. She is very sweet, happy but would benefit from some basic obedience and confidence building. Her approx. birth date is 02/14/18 and she currently weighs 8.4#. We are guessing at her breed make up. This girl has been a labor of love and came to us in rough shape! Thank you to her foster mom for getting her healthy! Amelia is house trained. She has been vet. checked, spayed, micro chipped, is up to date on routine shots & wormings including rabies, and has been treated with flea & heart worm preventative per our protocol. She is heart worm negative and had a complete dental. Her adoption donation is $250 and needs to be cash, certified check, money order or a debit/credit card. Kerri Hi there! I’m Kerri! I am a 10yr old chihuahua mix. I was found as a stray and have been living with my foster family for a little over a month. I was recently spayed, had a hernia fixed and had 14 teeth pulled that were causing me pain! Since then I have been feeling much better and I’m officially looking for my perfect furever home! (We do suspect Kerri had a seizure a few days ago but we are just monitoring for now) I would absolutely love a home that is willing to give me loads of love and attention. I am extremely affectionate once I’m feeling comfortable. I am a happy little girl that needs a little patience to allow me to adjust to my new surroundings and once I come out of my shell you will have a permanent lap dog that supplies unconditional love. I am not a huge fan of a crate but I love my pen that my foster mom made that I stay in. I sometimes even go in there all on my own when I need a break from my foster fur siblings. I have 2 cat and 5 dog siblings of all shapes and sizes. Although I am not thrilled about sharing my love with them, I do tolerate it pretty well once I adjusted to living with them. I need a family that is willing to help me with some baths that will help my skin as I am dealing with some allergies. I have improved tremendously since being with my foster parents but need continued care to keep me feeling healthy, comfortable and happy. I am potty trained and sleep well at night. I even like to take naps throughout the day and enjoy sunbathing outside. I enjoy my meals and absolutely love treats, although I do need to stay at a healthy weight since I’m getting a bit older so my joints stay strong. I can’t wait to find someone that is willing to give me the life I deserve! If you are interested in providing me with my dream retirement home, I’d love to meet you! Poppy, 10+ yrs. old, 10lbs, Male, Chihuahua mix, established potty habits, crate trained Poppy came into foster care a timid and underweight little guy. Throughout his stay he has gained both weight and confidence. Although he is still unsure sometimes he regularly seeks out affection and continues to grow each day. Poppy does suffer from seizures, but his condition has improved greatly with medication and are now a very rare occassion. Our best guess is they are at least partially stress induced. Poppy does well enough with other dogs, but due to his age doesn't engage with them, cats are unknown and due to his size small children should be avoided. Poppy lives for food, tv watching and a good fluffy bed. He's a low maintenance lilttle guy who would do well in most homes.
