Story
Truffle is a young female Chihuahua/Terrier mix puppy that came from another shelter. She is an active puppy who can also be very cuddly. In foster, she is working on crate & house training. We are looking for a home with a fenced in yard and no small children as Truffle is a young, mouthy puppy. We are working on this in foster also but do not feel she would do well with little kids. She also may be best as an only dog as she is quite pesty to other dogsPlease submit an application at pawshs.org and NOT a Petfinder inquiry as they may not be answered due to the volume of these inquiries received. Our adoption fees include the cost of spaying/neutering, vaccinations (including rabies for cats / dogs over 4 months of age), flea prevention, worming, FeLV/FIV testing, heartworm test for dogs over 1 yrs old, and microchipping. The location of our Adoption Center PAWS at 7282 N. Cherryvale Mall Drive . Check out all of our adoptable dogs, cats and kittens on our website at www.pawshs.org. Story
Meet Lily! Age: senior Weight: 10 pounds (I'm just an itty bitty!) Good with: adults House trained: I use potty pads, but still have accidents sometimes. I'm working on being the best girl I can! Crate trained: in my foster home I am gated in the kitchen if my foster parents go away. I do love my crate, it is my safe space! Special needs: I can't hear a dang thing from a lifetime of chronic ear infections, and my ticker isn't that great, so I can't have some procedures that are recommended. Let me give you a little back story about how I came into rescue. I was found left alone after my owner passed away. I was very scared and hungry! I'm working on trusting that people want the best for me. Lily is completely deaf, but she doesn't let it get her down! She loves her bed, her person, and food. She loves food so much that she prefers to eat alone. When I bring her meals, she does a little dance and twirl before I put it down. She co exists well with all the dogs in the house, big and small. She gets a little bossy with the cats when it's close to meal times, but other than that she gets along with them. When it's warm enough out she loves to sniff around the yard with the other dogs, and she loves warm weather walkies. She takes a bit to warm up, but once she does she's a pleasant little companion. She even likes to play! She'll whip around a toy and even chase it if you toss it. When I tuck her into bed at night she likes to play with me with the blanket before she settles down in her little blanket nest (the very best place for a little girl to sleep!) She's a spunky little girl for sure! She uses pee pads most of the time, especially when it's cold out. Lily is on 2 different kinds of medications for her 6/6 heart murmur.. Because of this she gets winded very quickly when she plays or exerts herself in any other way. With enough time to settle and slow intros, she is a spunky and loving little cutie! No small children, as she does not like to be touched unless she really knows you. *Lily is being fostered in New Glarus, WI. Story
Meet Smalls! Age: Senior Weight: 8 pounds Breed: Chihuahua mix Good with: Dogs of all sizes, cats, older children House trained: When kept on a good schedule - we are using belly bands as back up Crate trained: Yes Special needs: Old healed injuries to his hips/pelvis Smalls is an amazing little guy and would be a perfect addition to your household! With his long slender legs, soft brown eyes, and adorably big ears, he resembles a tiny fawn. He is a friendly, affectionate dog who wants his foster mom and dad to sit down and cuddle with him whenever they can. When they are busy, he will find a soft spot near his canine foster brothers, a warm dog bed in which to cuddle, or a sunny space to soak up some rays. Smalls loves going for walks and has great leash manners! Despite a big size difference, he keeps up with his foster doggie brother on their daily walks. He is always up for a car ride where he can get out to socialize, meet new people, and greet friendly dogs. His favorite things are treats, sun bathing, and snuggling under blankets. Smalls rarely barks and is happy to let the other dogs guard the house. While Smalls loves everyone he meets, he might do best in a home with older children and adults because he is fragile due to his small size, slender frame, and some old healed injuries. Smalls prefers to walk on his own rather than being picked up. He also spends a lot of time under blankets, so you have to be careful not to sit on him. Smalls will be the perfect companion during these long winter months ahead and will likely be happy to skip walks on cold snowy days. **Smalls is fostered in the Madison area Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Story
Well, hello there tiny tot?? Little Vincent is looking for his forever home as you can see he’s slightly bigger than a tennis ball! He will need a home that knows how to handle tiny dogs as we don’t know how big he’s going to be. Vincent is sweet and would rather be held and carried everywhere he went. Most of the time you can find Vincent under blankets wrapped up in a bed. His best home ?? ??Vincent gets along with Cats, but they are bigger than him! ??Larger dogs could be kind of scary, we don’t blame him for being a little intimidated by them. ????Little kids might be a little too much for his teeny tiny size, after all he is all of a couple pounds! Ask about him today!
