Luella was nearly full term in her pregnancy when she was abandoned at a local animal shelter. The shelter contacted us and we quickly sent one of our volunteers to pick her up. Luella spent several weeks in a foster home where she gave birth to two tiny puppies. Her puppies have long since been adopted, however Luella has yet to find her forever home. This small shy Chihuahua mix prefers the company of women and is fearful of men. Luella would do best in a quiet home with someone that is home most of the day. An independent pup, she just needs to know you are near, not fond of being picked up or cuddled. Give her a good meal and a warm bed and she is perfectly content. Most of her day is spent just following you around the house or taking naps. The perfect roommate, she will listen to your troubles for hours and never complain. Luella is housebroken and enjoys having a fenced-in backyard she can explore. She had access to a doggy door in her foster home and enjoyed the freedom of being able to come and go as she pleased. Luella can be snippy with other dogs, but does do well with cats. If you’re looking for a small quiet companion that is easy to care for, Luella would be a good choice. Hello, my Name is Percy, it's short for Perseverance. I am a 7 year old Chihuahua, I am spayed and current on all shots. Sadly I tested positive for heartworms, so I was started on treatment. Treatment almost killed me so I am taking a safer route. I am in rescue because I was found by a sweet woman who was house sitting. She said I was quite the survivalist. Nobody had ever seen me before. I was gathering everything I needed out of someone's garage and taking it back to a flat bed trailer that I claimed, I even had some yummy cat food I have NEVER known humans to be nice and gentle so when the man came to trap me I was soooo scared. The man turned out to be safe he even brought me to rescue. I have been here a long time being worked with. everyone has shown me that humans are good and loving. Meet Susie Q! Susie Q was found after being dumped at a school and was seen going through dumpsters just to survive. Susie is just baby. We are guessing she was born at the beginning of 2024. At first with thought she was a chihuahua/doxie mix, but I think she may have some Italian Greyhound or Min Pin in her too. Whatever her mix is, she is cute and I LOVE her big ears! She weighs around 10 pounds, spayed, updated on all shots, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and on heartworm and flea/tick prevention. This girl loves to play anywhere she is, inside or outside! She is great with people, but may play too hard for small kids. She is good with other dogs, but is not a huge fan of cats. Susie is good in the house as long as she gets plenty of potty breaks and toys to chew on! Garbage may need to be secured. Sometime she forgets she’s no longer a stray and thinks she still has to go through garbage just to eat, poor girl. The adoption fee is $250 to an approved and loving home. All vet records and her harness/leash will be given to the adopter at the time of adoption. Meet Trigger Trigger was dumped at a friend of mines moms’ house around the beginning of August 2024. He is a very good boy and gets along well with people and other dogs. Not sure about cats as the fosters are allergic to kitties, but I would imagine he would be fine since he’s seems so sweet. He does have an old leg injury, that has healed, so he limps slightly. He is around 2 years old and around 10 pounds. Trigger is neutered, updated on all shots, and heartworm tested negative. He will need to be kept on heartworm prevention his whole life, like all dogs should. The adopt fee to cover his care and vetting is $150 to an approve and loving home. All vet records will be given to the adopter at the time of adoption.
