Story
Rico is a character. He has “big dog” mentality; he barks big but comes in a little lovable package. He loves to get rubbed but doesn’t care to be picked up. He loves to play with our other dog and cat. We want to make sure he goes to a family who will love him as much as we do. He is a curious and fun dog who wants to be loved. He will be missed by us.

Story
Mary & Moe are looking for their SPECIAL SITUATION, PATIENT, BONDED PAIR Adopter Prior to being rescued, Mary and Moe lived in the woods with their homeless owner. One day their owner was able to get help and leave shortly before a freeze, but must not have been able to bring their dogs as they remained. Mary was adopted a couple months ago but later returned as we discovered how bonded the two actually were, and how unhappy Mary was without Moe. DNA tests later revealed Mary and Moe are brother and sister. They are also— — Around 2 years old — 10 pounds (Mary) and 13 pounds (Moe) — Spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped — In foster with other dogs ranging up to 25lbs — Potty trained + pee pad trained — Good car riders — No children — FLIGHT RISKS Once you have her trust, Mary is a top notch snuggle bug and cuddler. She thrives off of affection. We won’t sugar coat it though: Mary is going to make you work for her trust. It may take 2 months for you to really see the Mary that her foster sees every day. Mary really needs someone who is going to be ok with that, taking things slow with her, giving her time, and working on her time. She won’t be your best buddy lap gal overnight. When you finally earn that trust though, it will be worth every second. Moe is a certified food junkie and lover boy. An occasional streak of mischief and guaranteed heart stealer, this boy will have anyone head over heels. Mary and Moe would do best with someone who doesn’t work away from home e.g. 40-50+ hours a week. Even a hybrid work schedule would be beneficial for them. The duo is not crate trained currently. Moe could previously be crated, but Mary was a stressy mess in the crate, but Mary also panics with Moe in a crate and not her, but them crated together doesn’t resolve Mary’s crate anxiety either. Long story short — keeping Mary and Moe in a room gated off has been the best solution for the duo when you need to leave home. Disclosure: Shortly after Mary was rescued, someone Mary hadn’t had a chance to build trust with yet had to play ring around the rosey to catch her to put her back up. When they caught up with her and reached to grab her, Mary nipped in fear. This was very shortly after her capture and a bit understandable, but for sake of transparency and disclosure, we are sharing that history. So…. Do we have you sold yet? I know, it may sound like they need a unicorn adopter. Truthfully, they do. But they are worth it. Someone will love this special pair as much as their foster mama does, and have the honor of seeing the pair as the incredible loving duo they are. They will love you with every ounce of their being once you have their trust, and they are such a fun and loving pair once you have that trust. Mary and Moe will go as a foster-to-adopt trial first. This gives you a chance first to ensure Mary and Moe are a right match for you before adopting. We typically do 2 week foster to adopt trials, but we can do as long as even 4-6 weeks for these guys if you feel that time is needed. The goal is just to make sure Mary and Moe are the right match for a family and vice versus — before officially adopting. It is a pressure free, commitment free trial run. If you think Mary and Moe might be meant for you, please complete an adoption application (it’ll be foster-to-adopt) at joyspromise.org/adopt This special bonded pair is currently in foster in Fayetteville, GA. – Note: If you are interested in adopting, please COMPLETE AN APPLICATION THROUGH OUR WEBSITE. Inquiries on adoption sites is not an application. Your inquiry will not be seen until you complete an actual application at joyspromise.org/adopt

Story
Ludi is a very special case in that he needs someone who is patient and willing to put in the time to gain his trust. When he does finally find his person, I know his hard-earned love is going to be so rewarding. Because he was severely neglected and needs help regaining trust, Ludi needs time, patience, understanding, and a loving yet calm environment . He has recently moved into a new foster placement that is a bit quieter than his last, so we are hopeful that this will help Ludi feel more comfortable and help bring him out of his shell. Do you have a calm environment to help him work thru his trust issues? Could you help him become a dog that he deserves to be? We are out of options and need some guidance and help!! If you have a loving, quiet environment and have patience that you are willing to give him, we would LOVE to see this outcome as a success ~ please consider if you fit this criteria!! Ludi is a young, 15lbs, fully vetted male that we feel would excel in a less chaotic environment. All he needs is time to come around and show you just how special he truly is.
