LOOKING FOR A NICE HOSPICE HOME:  Approx. 13 years  old / Approx. 13 lbs. Hi, my name is Wilfred!  Mostly Mutts rescued me from animal control, and I am sure happy about that.  I needed bloodwork and a good dental cleaning when I arrived and I've had those now, thanks to a generous grant from the Grey Muzzle Organization!  Unfortunately, my teeth had been so neglected that they all had to be pulled.  I also needed some additional medical care – see medical below.  I’m grateful for the good care that I’m getting and the love from my wonderful foster family while I wait for my hospice family to find me! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I get along just fine with the dogs in my foster home and I follow their cues, too.  I’m not looking for a playmate, but a gentle companion would be fine with me, so let’s meet!  I also met some dogs recently at Mostly Mutts and although I didn’t want to play with them, I also didn’t show any aggression.  / I get along fine with the very dog friendly kitties in my foster home, too.  Of course, all kitties are different, so use careful introductions. / I haven’t met kids yet, so if you have kids that are old enough to be very gentle with me, let’s meet and no toddlers that may fall on me or very young children.       • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I was pretty confused and unsettled when I first found myself at animal control and later at the Mostly Mutts shelter. I didn’t really understand what had happened, but even though I was unsure, I was never unkind — just a little lost. At the shelter, I had a hard time relaxing and would pace a lot. Now that I’m in a foster home, life feels so much better! I do love following my foster around the house, and I’m beginning to relax in a soft, cozy dog bed. I think I’d be happiest with a stay-at-home or work-from-home family member who wouldn’t mind having me as their loyal little sidekick. I’m described as a very easy dog to foster who is sweet, quiet, calm and gentle. I was a ‘perfect gentleman’ for my shelter bath, too — even offering my paws for the rinsing phase.  I’m not playful or a snuggler, but I am a sweetie!  As I’m following my foster around, I’ve been a tripping hazard on a few occasions, so it’s best that I don’t live with anyone who may have mobility issues.  / My energy level is 3-5 and I do enjoy my morning walks with the other dogs and don’t want to be left behind.   • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I don’t really know any commands, and since I’m a senior fellow, I think we can skip the training and just enjoy each other’s company! / I do well in a gated area in my foster home for bedtime. / Since I’m a bit older, I do need to go out to potty a bit more than the young dogs. In my foster home, I’ll whine when I need to go, so know that that’s my cue.    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love being with my family and the other pets in my foster home and I’ve loved everyone I’ve met so far.  I don’t ask for much – just a nice safe home with a wonderful family where I’ll know I’m loved and included. / I don’t like being left behind when it’s time for a walk outside and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, good care and attention. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered.  I have a grade 4/5 heart murmur, so I eat a low salt soft diet and am on 2 heart medications: Enalapril twice a day, and Vetmedin once a day.  I also take an over-the-counter joint supplement called Cosequin daily and a little fish oil for my skin.  I had a boo boo on my hind end that has been tended to and is healing.  As mentioned above, I had to have all my teeth pulled. I seem to be a bit hard of hearing and have some vision loss – both likely just due to my age, but I don’t let it get me down. I am looking for a loving family to give me a wonderful home!  My adoption fee is $100.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.  September 16, 2025, 10:43 am

Story
A BLOSSOMING FRIEND:  Approx. 2 years old / Approx. 20 lbs. Hi there, I’m Bourbon! I came to Mostly Mutts from a home with more dogs than they could manage, so I missed out on some early socialization. But I’m learning every day and making great progress! Once I get to know you and decide you’re one of my people – you’re in for good! I just need a little time to settle in and build trust so we can become good friends. I got to spend some time in a temporary foster home and had a great time there! I was adopted for a short time, but it wasn’t the right fit, so I’m back at Mostly Mutts looking for a calmer type of home and family to live a good life with.  I spent some time in the prison/foster training program off-site and learned a lot! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS:  I have lived with a lot of dogs and have decided that I no longer want to live with other dogs. / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best 15+ who will be able to read my signals and give me time to feel at home. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL:  I came in a scared and sensitive soul who’s learning that the world isn’t such a scary place after all.  Once I know you’re my person, my heart opens up completely and I’ll show you my silly side with happy zoomies and gentle kisses.  I’m all about trust and patience - go slowly with me at first, keep me safe so I don’t get startled and run off, and soon you’ll see what a loyal, loving friend I am.  It took a bit longer with men in my temp. foster home, but I’ll be around men in the prison/foster training program, so stay tuned for more information about that. My temp. foster said I was a sweet dog, and I sure enjoyed my time there – it was a nice calm home which is what I like. /  Energy Level: My energy level was 4-6 in my temp. foster home. It may start out a little lower until I feel comfortable.    • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY:  I'm in the Mostly Mutts University training program and have learned the ‘sit’, ‘stay’, ‘come’, ‘drop it’, ‘leave it’ and ‘place’ commands so far.  I also use proper door etiquette and have good leash manners as well as accept nice strangers without jumping.  I look forward to learning even more. / I’m doing well in my little room at Mostly Mutts, and I did well in a crate in my temp. foster home, too – I slept peacefully during the night. / I’m doing pretty well with my potty manners on the shelter schedule with a few accidents.  I also did well in my temp. foster home on a good schedule.    • LIKES/DISLIKES:  I love people once I know them, I’ll run around doing zoomies to show them how happy I am to see them!  In my temp. foster home, I enjoyed being close to my person, lying in the sun and being out in the fenced yard with them as well as showing my fun ‘pounce’ and play style while running around.  I’m sure we’ll find lots of other things we will enjoy doing together once I’ve settled into my new home. / I don’t care for other dogs, and I wouldn’t be happy if people rushed me into new situations or relationships, or if I was in a home that was busy or loud and I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, and training. • MEDICAL:  I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I’m looking for a loving, calm and stable home where I’ll be cherished!  My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.   December 21, 2025, 1:48 pm

Story
Hanna came in with Lucy. Both girls had little contact with the outside world for a year. We think Hanna has Feist in her and of course Chihuahua. We call her the "Big Chihuahua". She's less outgoing then Lucy, but warms up nicely. She'd be fine as an only dog. Hanna is quiet and gentle. She wants attention, but it's been so long since she's had any she's not sure. She's fine with other dogs. Hanna's ready for her forever home, one that will never abandon her again!
