Story
Benny and Brie are a bonded sister and brother whose owner has passed away and here we are in the shelter. Sadly this is not the first time they have been here, they were placed here when their prior owner was hospitalized for illness. this isBrie he is 5 yrs old spayed very scared as you can imagine. . SHe is coming into rescue tomorrow and we will assess her behaviour and medical status once settled in. It would be best not to separate these two at their ages. So we will be needing an adopter that is willing to take both pups for the rest of their days. If you are that person please contact us and submit an application to ewenityfarmsbch.com..

Story
This little girl came to rescue from a chihuahua breeder who had all dogs removed from law enforcement. Sadie Belle arrived this week on the 15th of Dec. She is attracted to people, wants to jump on you and climb in your lap. She is also a bit shy and cautious with new people and new situations. She came from a hoarding situation and has not had much socialization and exposure to the BIG WORLD. That includes leash walking in suburbia, going for car rides, going to the vet, having a lot of people over and all the normal stuff people do in life. She will need a person who can be very patient with her, and allow her to absorb her environment at her pace. She is comfy with other small dogs, but is also fearful of them, keeping her tail tucked in. I have had her out and about with my 10 but she does not intermingle or even sniff them. She does not try to attack but retreats if they approach. She would do well with no other dogs, however she will ccontinue to neeed to be exposed to other dogs. leash training will need to be ongoing, as will exposure to new situations. all in small doses. This girl has the potential for dog sports down the road, once she gets some confidence. She runs, plays tug, and enjoys playing with her friend Norma. She just needs time to unfold. Someone with a quiet not in your face dog, a fenced yard and a lot of patience would be a great asset to this dog. some knowledge of dog behaviour would be great too. THese kind of dogs cannot be hurried along at your pace. YOU need to be on their schedule. She is pad trained and house trained. What little leash walking we have done has been fine. Currently housed in Bradenton. We do think she has some basenji in her, so if you have experience wtih them, that is a plus. Applications can be found at ewenityfarmsbch.com..

Story
Hen is a lovely girl that was in a confiscation situation. We have had her in the rescue for a year!!! She has come a LONG way and is doing great!!! She LOVES other dogs, plays well with them and once she knows you she is super affectionate. I think she will always have a cautious streak in her, from her past, but she is brave and manages to overcome her blocks!! It took us three months for her to come out of her crate and come willingly to us. Now once she knows you she wants to be with you all the time! She still is not wild about being picked up, but she does tolerate it. Totally housebroke, crate trained and yes we are still working on the leash. But it is only going forward. She is a funny girl. Loves to play with toys, and does zoomies in the yard. Rides well in the car in the front seat. She tolerates the vet and just goes limp in situations she is uncomfortable in. With more exposure, socialization and group classes(which we start this week) she will only improve. She is a project dog, but will give you her whole heart and soul. Will eventually make a great companion dog, right now she prefers the comfort of her home environ, with added dashes of the new world! Will need a fenced yard, and most importantly another kind playful dog to hang with and be her best friend! Fostered in Bradenton. Will need an adopter or anotehr long term foster who has knowledge of dog behaviour, and lots of patience and love.. This girl only wants to please, and with your help can conquer all those past fears. Make her future a safe and beautiful place!!!

Story
This little girl came to rescue from a chihuahua breeder who had all dogs removed. Norma has arrived from alabama as of 12/15 she will need a couple weeks to decompress. She is shy and wary of people right now, so we will see how she unfolds. NOrma is now in a pen with Sadie belle. She will be fine with another dog once she gets to know them. THey play together and tug with toys. Norma has allowed petting under the chin and does wag her tail slightly when she is addressed. She will not come to you or allow full petting or being picked up at this time. Her desensitization to people will be a slow process and you will need to be patient. THere is a lovely dog in here that wants to trust people, she just needs time. If you are that patient person and can allow her to blossom at her own pace you may be the right person. She is pad trained, we have not been able to eval her leash skills yet. Norma is being fostered in Bradenton. If you are interested please put an app in. This is not a ready made cuddly dog so check out our other dogs if that is what you are interested in..

Story
This lil 14 pd chi mix came from a hoarding situation on the east coast of Florida. She is unsocialized, needs a quiet home, is not aggressive to people. She just needs time. We just got her so allowing for decompression is very important. Right now an airline crate is her safe space. She has made no attempt to bite just wants to be as small as possible. Fostered in Bradenton. Someone who has experience with hoarding dogs, fearful dogs will be good for this girl. Must have a fenced yard, and another calm dog, not in your face type of dog.
