Story
CHICO IS IN HIS FOSTER HOME IN MEMPHIS, TN, AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED TO CT ONCE ADOPTED!   Chico is easily the sweetest fun-loving dog ever. He is happy-go-lucky, he is extremely smart and is eager to please his human. He is about 8-10 years old and 13lbs. Chico loves to cuddle with his person. He knows sit, come, back, find “whatever you ask him”. Chico is house trained and crate trained. He recently had a dental. Chico is a good eater. He is polite and loves meeting new people. Chico was an only dog in his original setting, walked into his multi dog foster home and immediately became the cruise director. He gets along well with dogs of all sizes. His favorite foster sibling are the pretty larger females! Chico is crate trained and house trained. He sleeps with his foster mom or in his open crate – his choice. Chico loves lap time. The best home for Chico will have a secure fence. Kids over 10 and with excellent doggy manners would be okay. Another well temperamented dog would be fabulous. An excellent history of vet care for current or previous pets is required. Previous specific breed experience will be given preference. He is fully vetted including spay/neuter, microchip, rabies and all puppy vaccinations. His adoption fee of $600 includes the transport to CT. We use a licensed and registered USDA transport company that will bring Chico up north to his new family.   If you have any questions, please email us at: newbeginnings_animalrescue@yahoo.com You can apply to adopt Chico here: www.newbeginningsanimalrescue.net THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING ADOPTING A RESCUED PET!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2024, 10:56 pm

Story
Here is "Penny". Penny is a 5 month old black Chihuahua and she weighs 5 pounds. Penny's owners moved to Florida but, before they moved, they gave Penny to someone. That someone now does not want Penny because he works all day and does not have the time to take care of her. Penny is not trained because, between Penny's previous owners and her owner now, no one took the time to train poor Penny. Penny needs someone who does not work all day and someone who has patience and will give her the time, attention and guidance she needs. Penny is a happy, happy, happy little girl! She gets along with everybody she meets, be it an animal or a human! In Penny's new home, children must be 6 years or older. You must own your own home. No condos. No apartments. Penny got spayed, she got her 4 in 1 shot, she got her rabies shot and she got her distemper shot. To adopt from us, you MUST have a veterinarian reference in your own name. We get a veterinarian reference from your veterinarian which is a history of medical care administered by your veterinarian to your present or previous pet or pets. Please do not contact us if you cannot abide by our adoption rules. The adoption fee for Penny is $350.00. No credit cards. If you are interested in Penny, please email us at feline55keeper@gmail.com. You can meet Penny on Saturday at Petco located at 201 Union Street in Waterbury during our adoption hours from 12:00 to 3:00. Penny will be looking for you! IT IS IMPORTANT THAT WE STRESS THAT IN ORDER TO ADOPT FROM US, YOU MUST HAVE A VETERINARIAN REFERENCE...NO EXCEPTIONS!

Story
Winston being around the age of 6, but you wouldn’t know it. More active & fun little guy. He likes to be in your lap, follows you around like a puppy. Came in with a bad case of mange, which his hair is coming back. Potty trained with a doggie door but must leash him in the morning to take him out and make sure he does his business. If not, you will have a surprise in one of your corners. Loves all the foster & personal dogs in foster care. Plays well with them & has a way about him that he can get ones to play that usually don’t play. He likes to snuggle in bed & is crate trained. Leashed trained & rides good in the car. Hoping to find his forever home Winston had a terrible case of demodectic mange when he/she came into our rescue. He/she has been treated, but his/her hair is still slowly growing back and that's why in the pictures it might appear that he/she looks like they have been nibbled on by a moth. Demodectic mange, frequently referred to as Demodex or "red mange", is the most common form of mange in dogs. Demodectic mange most often occurs in puppies with immature immune systems, allowing the number of skin mites to multiply rapidly. It's not contagious to other dogs or humans, and it is easily treatable but can be a lengthy process. There are several different medications (oral and topical) that are used to treat Demodex. Medicated baths are helpful and soothing to help the puppy feel less irritated. However, the very best treatment above everything else is low stress and lots of TLC. We also suggest food that is for skin conditions. This sweet puppy is ready for a home of her very own but please be sure and do your own research about Demodex to make sure you're comfortable with it. We've treated probably thousands of puppies and adults with Demodex and in the most severe cases, the hair might grow back splotchy in places, but the recovery is full and when treated properly, Demodex leaves no long-term health issues. This dog is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and current on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. This dog has tested neg for heartworms. The adoption fee is $450 if your adoption is prepaid and final prior to your dog's arrival. An additional $50 will be charged on dogs that are picked up from our Southbury CT adoption center, adopted at an event, or foster home. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with CT HB 5368. WANT TO MEET OUR DOGS IN PERSON? Check the Events tab on cprdogs.com for all weekend adoption event info. The majority of the dogs marked as 'meet me' will be there to see you! If you are a MA resident, your new family member is required to go through a mandatory 48 hour quarantine period at our Woburn MA isolation facility. Your new family member will be dropped off by our transport on Thursday and will be ready for you to pick him/her up on Saturday between 11 am-1 pm. An additional $100 fee will be added for any dogs picked up from the Woburn MA quarantine facility. This additional fee is necessary in order to comply with MA Order 405-CD-12 and Order 1-AHO-05. TO APPLY PLEASE GO TO www.cprdogs.com. If your application was successfully submitted you will get a confirmation. Please DO NOT USE the ADOPTAPET "CONTACT THIS RESCUE GROUP" form below or you may not hear from us as these often end up in spam or bouncing back. After receipt of your application, an adoption counselor will then be in touch to answer your questions about this pup, discuss the adoption process and get the ball rolling! If you have not heard from one of our volunteers within 5 days of submitting your application, please email mollibo@gmail.com.

Mowgli Male, Chihuahua mix, 2 years old, 6.6 pounds We have some very special little Chi mix pups looking for their forever homes! Frida and Mowgli came from a hoarding situation, so they’re still getting used to what it means to be loved and cared for—but they’ve already come such a long way. These sweet, shy, and timid pups LOVE attention once they warm up to you. They might take a little bit of time to trust, but once they do, get ready for a whole lot of tail wags, kisses, and cuddles! They’re also energetic (think of it as a tiny tornado of love), so if you’re looking for a walking buddy—or even just a Netflix marathon snuggler—they’ve got you covered. Oh, and did we mention they’re great conversationalists? These little guys love to talk! Whether it’s a happy bark when they’re excited or a sassy little grumble when they want your attention, they’ll keep you entertained with their tiny voices. They can be adopted together (double the love!) or separately. Either way, they’re sure to fill your home with warmth, laughter, and some seriously adorable Chihuahua energy. Ready to meet your new best friend(s)? Submit your application and let’s get these sweeties into their perfect homes!  * The adoption fee of $475 includes age-appropriate vaccines, initial de-worming, spay/neuter surgery, microchip and transport fee.   * The application is the first step in all inquiries and adoptions    Canine Compassion Fund - Online Adoption Application www.caninecompassionfund.org/Forms/OnlineAdoptionApplication   * Additional information is available on our site caninecompassionfund.org November 1, 2024, 2:20 pm
