Story
Sweet Philip is ready for his second chance at a forever home. Philip first came to us eight years ago from Odessa, Texas, and was adopted—but thanks to the power of a microchip, he recently found his way back to us. While we don’t know what happened, we do know this: he’s ready to put it all behind him and spend his golden years exactly where he belongs—curled up in someone’s lap. This little gentleman is housetrained (with occasional marking) and just had a full dental, so he’s feeling his best and enjoying a wet food diet. Philip can be a bit nervous when meeting new people, but give him a couple of days and he’ll warm up into the sweetest, most loving companion. He’s a smart boy who knows when he’s found a good thing—and he’ll stick close by your side. Philip does well with small dogs and is respectful, not pushy. He’s also great with cats. Large dogs make him uneasy, and he’ll let you know with a bark, so a calmer home without big dogs would suit him best. He’d thrive with someone who is home more often than not, where he can relax and soak up attention. Kids are okay too, as long as they’re gentle and respectful. He’s a simple guy—happy to do his own thing, then hop into your lap for some well-earned love. If you’re ready to give this sweet senior the peaceful, loving home he deserves, apply at www.brasscityrescue.org 🐾

Story
Meet Walter—aka “Chocolate Rain” This absolutely precious older super mutt is ready to find his forever home. Walter is house-trained, affectionate, and a loyal little shadow once he trusts you. He rides great in the car, loves small dogs, and will happily follow his person from room to room. Walter does have some firm boundaries. He’s sensitive about his neck and won’t tolerate a collar, so a securely fenced yard is a must—he’s not a candidate for leash walks. He prefers to initiate affection on his own terms and would do best in a calm home with dog-savvy kids 12+ who can respect his space. Give him a soft bed near you, a little patience, and respect for who he is, and Walter will reward you with quiet devotion and companionship. He’s a quirky, lovable old guy looking for someone who gets him. Apply to adopt Walter at www.brasscityrescue.org

Story
Doc, checking in to introduce myself. I am an independent, yet, affectionate 3 1/2 year old Chihuahua who would thrive with an individual or couple with previous Chihuahua experience. I like cuddling on your lap or in bed with you. I am house-trained and crate-trained. Come, Sit, and Spin are some of my additional good qualities. Like any Chihuahua, I am stubborn and obsessive over things I identify as valuable. I like tissues, socks, or my feet a little too much. i am very pleased to have other dogs in my foster home. I adapt and except many different dog personalities. Playing with them or playing by myself keeps me content. I respect other dogs while they are eating, take treats gently, and kennel when asked to consume my meals as I take my time while eating. I would prefer a home with 1 or 2 adults, a dog or two that would accept me and a fenced in yard. An apartment may not be best as I tend to have verbal discussions with passing cars. I would thrive in a home that does not have children and one that would take me for walks and car rides to keep me happy. If I seem like the right fit for you, please don't hesitate to fill out an application. www.spottydogrescue.org ##2714104##

Story
Meet Moochie, a super cute ~3-4 year old neutered male long haired chihuahua mix, weighing about 10 lbs! This sweet, spunky boy is what we affectionately refer to as a "spicy quesadilla" . He is a TOTAL love once you have earned his trust and he deems you as safe, but he does take a little bit to warm up to new people. He is not a fan of strangers invading his personal space or moving too fast for him, so he does best if you let him come to you on his own terms - kind of like a cat! Moochie does not enjoy kids and he got nippy with the young kids in his previous home (we think they were manhandling him), so no kiddos for this guy. He would do best in a quiet, calm adult only home. Chihuahua experience is a plus, since he has a "typical chi" personality (IYKYK!)   He does well with other small dogs and cats, and he enjoys playing with his doggo foster brother! He has not been around larger dogs, so we are unsure how he would do with them.  Note from Foster: Moochie (Mooch Mooch), the ultimate pocket-sized companion who perfectly embodies the "sweet and spicy" Chihuahua reputation. This little one is a devoted, 10lbs cuddle bug who craves nothing more than to be a permanent fixture in your lap, under a blanket, or carried around like royalty. He is incredibly affectionate, often showering his favorite people with kisses and acting as a loyal shadow. Mooch is also a great travel companion, he enjoys car rides and happily spends his days in the office while you work, often curled up in his bed for a nap. Occasionally, he emerges to check on you, ensuring you're staying on task. He loves visiting stores where he can meet other small dogs and strangers which is the only space he is not protective of you, although he’s still a bit wary of the larger breed. Walks are a delight for him; he prefers to keep a steady pace without stopping at every tree, simply eager to continue exploring. Moochie is far from a softie, he brings just the right amount of sass to keep things lively. Fiercely protective of his human, whether at home or in the office, he takes his role seriously. Once he gets comfortable with new people, he prefers to observe from a distance while enjoying playtime with his foster brother. However, he struggles with being left alone, especially in a crate, often expressing himself through barking, whining, and even destroying his bed and any items left in his space. Mooch has had experience with cats and gets along well with the older ones, often ignoring them completely. However, he tends to react with frustration towards the younger, more energetic cat that causes chaos. While Mooch may charge at him, he has never harmed any cat. Instead, he usually retreats after getting swatted, realizing he overstepped. Mooch would thrive in a home with an older cat or no cats at all, but I wouldn't recommend introducing him to a teenage cat. Mooch would be thrilled to have another doggy sibling to run around with, engage in playful chases, and enjoy nightly wrestling matches. He is medically up to date, housebroken (expect accidents the first few days while adjusting to a new home/routine), and crate trained. Apply to meet this adorable little guy today! Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. As a small rescue that does not receive government funding or grants, we rely on adoption fees to stay afloat. Adoption fees help cover the following: vaccinations, wellness exams, heartworm/4DX testing, parasite prevention, spay/neuter (age-appropriate), microchipping, transport expenses, and other rescue-related overhead/administrative costs. Paws Rescue League, Inc is an all-inclusive rescue that does NOT only rescue puppies and young, healthy dogs.  We make a point to also rescue seniors, dogs with special needs, moms, and other “less desirable” dogs, knowing that we will likely incur higher veterinary expenses and that these dogs may take longer to get adopted.  As such, an individual adoption fee is not only reimbursing PRL for expenses directly related to that dog, but it is also helping us to continue our mission of taking in dogs that would otherwise be too much of a financial burden to save. We believe that ALL dogs deserve a second chance. Thank you for your support and understanding! ##2594633##

Story
Meet Linden, a handsome ~2-3 year old chihuahua/small terrier mix, weighing about 15 lbs! Linden was rescued from a hoarding/neglect case in Kentucky along with the other Tree pups (Magnolia, Pine, Sycamore, etc.). He is currently being fostered in CT and is ready to find his furever home!  Linden is a shy/nevous boy who takes some time to trust and warm up to new people. He wants so badly to connect with people, but he is scared and unsure. Once he knows you are safe, he is very sweet! He is looking for someone who will be patient with him and give him a little time and space to come to them on his own terms. Linden is good with other dogs, cats (he ignores them), people, and older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space (due to his nervous/timid nature). From Linden's current foster:  "Linden is making great progress! Although he remains a bit shy, he has shown remarkable improvement and is such a sweet pup. We’ve started teaching him some basic commands, focusing on "come" and "sit." He understands "come," but we're still working on "sit." He’s fantastic on the leash, enjoys his walks and recently enjoyed trips to Petco and Home Depot, he was a bit scared at first but did great." He is medically up to date, housebroken (expect accidents the first few days while acclimating to a new environment/routine), and crate trained. Apply to meet this special boy today!  Click HERE for Adoption Application: pawsrescueleague.org/adopt Adoption fees vary based on the dog and are not negotiable. Story
Twinkle’s story is as heartbreaking as it is inspiring. She came to us after someone claimed to have “found” her wrapped in a soiled diaper. But after a little digging, we discovered the truth—it was actually her owner who had abandoned her under false pretenses. Even more devastating, she had posted online about Twinkle’s injury but waited too long to get her proper care. By the time she came into our care, it was too late for surgery. Despite that neglect, Twinkle has held onto her spirit. She has hind leg paresis, meaning she has partial mobility—not full paralysis. And while surgery was no longer an option, she’s made incredible strides through supplements and alternative therapies like acupuncture, electromagnetic treatment, massage, and physical therapy. She’s showing steady, meaningful progress. She does need her bladder and bowels expressed 3–4 times a day, but she’s a total champ about it—cooperative, patient, and even helps by posturing. The process takes just a couple of minutes. ? More about Twinkle: • Resilient, loving, and full of personality • Great eater and enjoys all the things mobile dogs do • Gets along well with other respectful animals • Best with older, calm kids (10+) • No other health concerns Twinkle is about 5-6 years old, She is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and tested negative for heartworm and tick borne diseases. Twinkle needs a special adopter—someone experienced or willing to learn about special needs care, with the time and dedication to help her thrive. She’s been let down before, but she hasn’t let it define her. She’s ready to love and be loved in a home that truly sees her. If you’re that kind of person, Twinkle is ready to be your shining light.
