If there are problems with the website, please email me for help. BUDDY is great small dog… not too big and not too small. He is about 18#. He is about 1 ½ yrs old. He is definitely a Chihuahua mix. The mix makes him a little bigger than most Chihuahuas. He gets along with all the fosters dogs and cats… AND PIGs. He is very easy-going…no stress. He is affectionate and happy. He is easy on the leash. Buddy came from a family with 6 kids of which one had autism. This child was just too rough with Buddy and the cat so they felt it was best to find the animals a new home. Buddy shows no signs of abuse. He is just happy, happy, happy. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. All pups and dogs are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, microchipped, dewormed, have a negative heart worm test for all dogs over 6 months at time of transport, have a health certificate, and have all age-appropriate vaccinations. Some dogs/pups have additional medical, including but not limited to FHO, ACL, hernias, dental, and other vetting. All medical records will be provided to the adopter at the time they pick up their dog. This is a post on behalf of Pet Central SATX Rescue, headquartered in San Antonio, Texas, where there are over 350,000 homeless pets. We have hundreds of puppies/dogs available so there really is no need to apply anywhere else. Welcome Bandit to CCPAL Rescue. Bandit is an Apple Head Chihuahua pup. He is about 2 years old. He weighs about 6 pounds. He likes being held and is a little shy. This boy had a very terrible person for his owner. She was a sexual deviant and he and the other dogs in this house were abused by this person. A good Samaritan stepped in and took all the dogs. Bandit was with foster care until she called CCPAL and we took them into the Rescue. He is a little shy and when he is scared, wants to retreat. He has a nice short coat and the loyalty of the Chihuahua breed. He is good with other dogs and despite his past, he is very loving. He and the others in this group really are doing well and are responding to loving and very normal attention at the Rescue. They are fitting in well with routines and the schedules at the Rescue. The dogs will get daily cuddles and assurance that people are nice and most are very normal. Bandit would be great in a quieter home. I would say a retired couple or a single person wanting a rather quiet and low energy companion animal. He will be getting his neuter soon and he has already gotten his toenails clipped and vaccinations. None of these dogs are fully potty trained but we will be working on really good schedules and crate training at the Rescue. He is currently in Texas at the CCPAL Rescue. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. He could be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. . Name: Louis Nicknames: Louie. Lulu. Breed: Chihuahu mix Sex: Male Age: ~12-13 years old Weight: 20 lbs. Before OMD: Brought to the city shelter to be euthanized by his previous owners because they decided he was too old. The shelter, thankfully, took Louis in and immediately looked for help from a rescue partner instead - that partner was us and he became ours. Energy level: Overall low with a few laughable crazy moments when he runs around with his toys. What we love: His beautiful grey muzzle. His stoic face hinting he is solving all of the world’s problems. His love for his people and snuggling. What makes us laugh: When he makes his flying leap attempts to get on the couch, but ultimately misses almost every time. The way his lip gets stuck on his gums revealing his snaggletooth. When he's extra comfy and he strikes a great superman pose on his back. What he loves most: Snuggling his foster sibling on a soft spot. His lamb chop. Naps. Sunbathing. You should know: He's a resource guarder, and at 12 years old, we don't see this behavior getting much better. Basically, when he has high value items or is eating his meals, he should just be left alone. Redeeming quality: He is *excellent* on leash. A total dream. Dogs: Sure, he loves 'em! He'll just need to be separate with toys and meals. Cats: Good with him. Kids: No thanks! This old man is looking for a retirement home, not a daycare. House-trained: Yes, but will occasionally mark. Belly bands are your friend and he's cool with wearing them. Crate-trained: Yep - he protests at first, but ultimately settles down. Louis is neutered, had a dental, vaccinated, heartworm negative and microchipped. He is available for adoption to residents of CT and IL and surrounding states. Meet Shimmer, a super sweet 5-6 year old female chihuahua! Shimmer was rescued from a hoarding case in east TN, and she and 9 other chihuahuas (several of which were pregnant) were taken in by Paws Rescue League. They were in a TN foster home for over a month decompressing and learning to trust people. Shimmer is now in New England and ready to find her furever home! Shimmer is a "tripawd", she is missing the lower portion of her back left leg. We don't know how she lost her leg as the came into rescue in this condition, but it does not stop her one bit! She runs and jumps around just fine and she does a cute little hop. She is a shy girl and takes time to warm up to new people, so she will need someone who is patient and gentle with her, and who will work with her on continued socialization. Once you earn her trust, she is an absolute sweetheart and will take treats from your hand and give gentle kisses. She is good with other dogs and cats. Due to her shyness, we recommend older kids 8+ who know to respect a dog's space.
