Story
Welcome Draco to CCPAL foster program. Draco is a 3 year old 7 month old Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund). He weighs about 9 pounds. He is very social and loves cuddles. He loves the good Samaritan that found him on the streets in the Texas snow storm. Draco is great with other dogs and we think his best home would be with another playful dog or a person that is home and would love to play ball, walk and cuddle Draco. He doesn’t dig or tear up anything in the house and he does his business outside. He will use a potty pad if it is too long for him to hold. He is an opportunist when a gate or door is open and will take that opportunity. He will stay behind a baby gate if there is one and his foster is also going to introduce him to a crate. Right now he is allowed partial free roam while she is away at work. He is super social and loving so he would be fine around children. We like them to be 8 or older. He is neutered, microchipped and will have all vaccines topped up before he leaves the Rescue. He likes strangers but will bark if someone is at the door. He is lower on the shed scale but he does shed. His arms curl around your hands when you pick him up. He really likes being held. He is currently in Texas and can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is 400 and transport is 200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states. Contact Marlene at 210-867-1769 or email to ccpalinquiries@gmail.com if you have questions. Online applications at www.ccpalrescue.org See his cute video!!

Story
Welcome Missy to CCPAL Rescue Foster program. Missy Gorda is a 2 -year- old Chug (Pug/Chihuahua). She weighs about 13 pounds and appears to be a good weight. She has the Pug body and is thick in the middle. She is very playful with toys. She is in a foster home with a large dog and Minnie and she does good with both. She isn’t a big shedder. She isn’t too vocal which is nice. She can use the doggy door and goes outside to do her business. She came from a hoarding situation and probably hasn’t been held much. She is a little nervous being held and has a bit of a stiff body. She loves her crate and will go to it when she is scared. The crate makes her feel safe. She is a wonderful little dog. She is really doing great in her foster home. We think the best home for Missy is a home with a partially or fully retired person or someone who has a quieter home. She would be great with someone that is more to themselves and doesn’t have a houseful of people everyday. She is a nice dog and when she is afraid she will retreat to her crate. She is getting lots of attention in her foster home and is doing great. She wouldn’t require a huge yard but a fenced one would be best for this girl. She can go with children. We like them to be 8 or older. She is currently in Texas in foster care. She is getting her vaccinations and will be spayed soon. She can be adopted locally or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get her to Washington, Portland, Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. Her adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. Story
Welcome Jett to CCPAL Rescue. Jett is a 3-month-old Chihuahua mixed puppy. He is about 6 pounds now and should be 12 pounds full grown is our best estimation. Jett’s mom is Buttons. Buttons is a 12-pound chihuahua. The pups are going potty on the wee pads and are crated in a playground during the day. They don’t mind the crate and are happy to be in the shaded building getting daily attention by the staff at CCPAL. Jett and Ebony look very similar. These are the only 2 puppies that look alike in this litter. Jett was born on the streets of Texas and rescued by a good Samaritan. He is getting her puppy vaccines, dewormed and will be neutered in a few weeks and ready for his forever home. Jett has a brindle, and this coat is softer over being coarse. He isn’t shedding now and may be a lower shedding dog. He likes being held and is playful with his litter mates. We are thrilled the good Samaritan stepped in to help these puppies get to the CCPAL Rescue. He and the siblings all look very different, so we think there may have been a few dads that were involved in the puppies. They are all precious and all would appear to be small dogs full grown. We are currently in Texas and our pups can be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get them to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. His adoption fee is $600 and transport is $200. Rhode Island and Massachusetts are not states we adopt to because of the regulations imposed by these states.
