Shimmer is a "tripawd", she is missing the lower portion of her back left leg. We don't know how she lost her leg as the came into rescue in this condition, but it does not stop her one bit! She runs and jumps around just fine and she does a cute little hop. She is a shy girl and takes time to warm up to new people, so she will need someone who is patient and gentle with her, and who will work with her on continued socialization. The mix makes him a little bigger than most Chihuahuas. He gets along with all the fosters dogs and cats… AND PIGs. He is very easy-going…no stress. He is affectionate and happy. He is easy on the leash. Buddy came from a family with 6 kids of which one had autism. This child was just too rough with Buddy and the cat so they felt it was best to find the animals a new home. Buddy shows no signs of abuse. He is just happy, happy, happy. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Welcome Bandit to CCPAL Rescue. Bandit is an Apple Head Chihuahua pup. He is about 2 years old. He weighs about 6 pounds. He likes being held and is a little shy. This boy had a very terrible person for his owner. She was a sexual deviant and he and the other dogs in this house were abused by this person. A good Samaritan stepped in and took all the dogs. Bandit was with foster care until she called CCPAL and we took them into the Rescue. He is a little shy and when he is scared, wants to retreat. He has a nice short coat and the loyalty of the Chihuahua breed. He is good with other dogs and despite his past, he is very loving. He and the others in this group really are doing well and are responding to loving and very normal attention at the Rescue. They are fitting in well with routines and the schedules at the Rescue. The dogs will get daily cuddles and assurance that people are nice and most are very normal. Bandit would be great in a quieter home. I would say a retired couple or a single person wanting a rather quiet and low energy companion animal. He will be getting his neuter soon and he has already gotten his toenails clipped and vaccinations. None of these dogs are fully potty trained but we will be working on really good schedules and crate training at the Rescue. He is currently in Texas at the CCPAL Rescue. His adoption fee is $400 and transport is $200. He could be adopted locally in Texas or we can work with one of the wonderful transporters to get him to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minnesota, Vermont or all along the East Coast. . His mother is an 11 pound, 4 year old Chihuahua. She was picked up from the streets after giving birth in a field. I got her and the 2 boys when they were just 1 week old. They have been in my home thriving greatly. Since momma was out in the streets we do not know who daddy is, sorry. Bobby is 4.6 pounds and 9 weeks old. He does favor mom. He is 2 pounds lighter than his brother Boots. I have included a picture of mom. They play constantly and love when I let them out of the puppy play pen to play with the bigger dogs. They run zoomies all around the living room. These are very very good and loving puppies and should make great family pets whatever they are mixed with. Both boys have had 2 vaccinations and due their 3rd one next week so they will come fully vaccinated, neutered, dewormed and microchipped. They are too young right now for a rabies. Ziggy is a lover boy who would love to have a home with you. He gets along with all of the dogs in my home and plays very well. He is completely crate and potty trained. When you tell him to 'Go Home' he puts himself in his crate and telling him to 'Go Potty' he will run outside. I have not left him alone in the home while I am running errands because he always puts himself in his crate. He will eat with the other dogs but he likes to eat in his crate. He does not have any food or any other aggression. Ziggy was an owner surrender from someone who had him all of his 3 years. The owners living situation changed and she could keep him any longer. When he first came to me he was very scared and confused which was understanding. I completely left him alone so he could get use to his new environment, the dogs and me. After 2 days he came up to me giving me kisses and he has been my best friend every since. On the day of surgery, he was nervous but he allowed the vet tech to handle him and he was so relieved to see me on pick up time. Once he gets use to you, he is an excellent pet and no maintenance on a daily basis. Ziggy is 3 years old, weighs 8 pounds and a long haired Chihuahua that would need to be groomed about every 3 months.
