IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING THIS DOG: Tazz does not enjoy human interaction and much prefers the company of other dogs. He will take a long time to decompress around new people, but overall enjoys being independent. He needs an adopter who is patient, understanding of his personality and needs, and knows he does not bond with humans easily. Tazz is not a people-dog and still very much prefers the company of dogs. He still makes it very difficult to even approach, let alone touch him. Our director is working with him to show him that humans are not all bad and are actually a source of good things (like food!). Tazz needs an adopter who will understand his boundaries and need to go slow. If you are looking for a cuddle buddy, Tazz is not your guy (yet). If you are looking for a very rewarding experience in helping him become comfortable with humans, please apply! Tazz was rescued from an overcrowded shelter by our director when she visited our partner in New Mexico. He is very shy and appears to not understand what it is like to really be loved. Tazz is looking for a very patient person who can slowly show him what it is like to be loved and give him the unconditional love he deserves for the rest of his life. From her amazing foster: "Ellie Mae is doing good! She is growing in her confidence but still is unsure and scared of a lot of the world. She has started to let me sit next to her and pet her which is big progress!! She lets me pick her up to go out for potty breaks. She spends her days curled up on the back on the couch looking out the window or napping. She’ll go into her crate every now and again but it’s getting rarer and rarer. She does really well with routine. She does fine by herself and hasn’t had any accidents in my home. She is still terrified of a leash and definitely doesn’t trust men. She did get really scared and bite my boyfriend when we were about to take a potty break but we just gave her some space and tried again later and she was okay.
