Story
Once past her initial shyness, little 5-year-old Lucy showed her foster parents how sweet she truly is. A natural born people pleaser, she puts all of her 15 pounds into LOVE, LOVE and more LOVE! The adored apple of her fosters’ eyes, she loves giving them kisses, snuggling and cuddling with them, resting her head on them and having her belly rubbed. When she’s not faithfully following after her foster mom, she’s learning to read the cues of her three canine companions, slowly growing more comfortable in their company while being cleverly outwitted by the dog-savvy cat. Moderately energetic at the moment, Lucy enjoys going for walks, walking excellently on leash, and then happily entertains herself by playing with toys, especially ones that squeak, hiding some of them in her crate and one in her foster mom’s closet. New to the joy of burrowing her way under the covers of her fosters’ bed, she’s just as new to knowing her basic commands, but since she’s highly motivated by love, toys and food, she should prove ever so easy to teach. Crate trained and almost fully house-trained, Lucy will do best in a particularly loving home, preferably with older children and possibly an easygoing dog, that will patiently bolster her confidence, continue her socialization and complete her training, including her commands, in return for a lifetime of Lucy LOVE. Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails). If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives!
