Meet Shakira. Yes, her hips do lie… right next to you on the couch after a busy day of play! This fun-sized sweetheart has all the best puppy qualities of playfulness, curiosity, and a love of adventure with the benefit of being house and crate trained. Shakira loves her dog friends, a game of fetch, a long walk, or the challenge of a food puzzle. When the fun is over, she’s more than happy to soak up all the attention you’re willing to give while she sits on your lap.
She’s curious about cats but polite enough to respect their boundaries. She does great with kids, though her enthusiastic play style may be a little too energetic for very small children. At the perfect “take me anywhere” size, Shakira is ready to be your hiking buddy, road trip copilot, neighborhood walking partner, and professional cuddle consultant. If you’re looking for a dog who can keep up with your adventures and make you laugh every day, Shakira is waiting to meet you.
Shakira is a 1-year-old mixed breed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $400 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, 4DX testing, and spay. Shakira is also tested with other dogs, cats, children, and potty and kennel trained. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if she might be a good fit for your home.
The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals.
We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!)
Please note, we do not have the ability to process adoption applications at our adoption events, so please plan accordingly. If an application is submitted past 5pm on Monday-Thursday, it will begin review the following day. If submitted on Friday-Sunday, it will begin review on Monday. It takes approximately 1-2 business days for an application to be processed.
Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525).
